Justice is a Marshall grad and has appointed the majority of the MU Board of Governors. Based on past rumors, on one should be surprised.

That is pretty cool. Makes y'all big time in my opinion. The Governor of the state firing the HC after a 7-3 season isn't good enough.

Nothing bad happens when "Boosters" or powerful alumni get involved in a schools athletic program.

I raised this over on the "Doc got fired" thread... What coach with options, is going to want to work in a job with a Governor who fancies himself "The Jerry Jones of West Virginia"?

It's an incredibly bad look if Governor Justice has even a remote connection to this... And as a former West Virginian (my job moved me last year), Jim Justice is not the most stable person in the State. If he's involved in firing and hiring coaches, Marshall is screwed.

I agree. I think it will turn off many potential candidates for the position.

So WV governor Jim Justice previously wanted Marshall's football coach, athletics director, and the school president all fired. When will the state of WV 'fire' the governor for not taking care of HIS job and let him go be "Jerry Jones" on his own time?

Governor Justice also asked the board members to fire Gilbert and Athletic Director Mike Hamrick, the man responsible for hiring Holliday, according to the Gazette-Mail’s source.

That's why the word "previously" was in the first sentence. Previously means "at an earlier time".
