Didn't Beavers say a while back he was coming back?

I think we speculated that he was, but no confirmation yet that I have seen.

They said in the UCF telecast that he asked to come back. Reason why he didn’t walk on Senior Day.

RE: Football Departures - Crowd Source
I hope that a few of our seniors do decide to take the free COVID year, but maybe not too many of them as it could hinder the development of younger guys. Would be nice to maybe hold on to one guy from each position group on defense. Bryant from the DBs, Beavers from the LBs, and maybe Brooks on the DL would be nice to help stabilize all the turnover. That said, I wouldn't turn down any of the names on that list as long as they come back knowing they aren't guaranteed playing time and will need to compete for starting positions like anyone else on the roster.

I’m now more worried about the OLine.

On the D Line we still have Briggs coming in and Vann returning along with a lot of promising young guys like Wodtly who has a ton of talent. I think the DLine will remain solid, especially if Sanders returns but even without him I think we will be just fine.

On OLine we saw what happened without Hudson at LT. Hopefully Harper returns for one more season and someone like Jonathan Allen is now ready to step in at LT. Otherwise it may be an up and down year with a lot more close games than we should be in.

Thanks for this thread. The other thread is also nice, but having everything on one location is absolutely amazing. Thank you!

I would love to find another transfer at OT, but we do have some highly touted (ratings) like Allen who hopefully will be ready. I know there was a lot of flack thrown at Metz, but he likely won't see anyone as talented as GA's D-Line the rest of his career. He likely will be a lot more serviceable against the AAC.

That said...I would still feel more comfortable with a transfer in his slot.

Didn't they already use up all available spots for incoming players next year?

Metz has now finished his second year and still can't figure out the snap count. It would be nice to get someone in there who didn't commit procedure penalties every other play - and move him back to the dl.

I've always wondered, does Metz have English issues? I don't know if he has the tools to be good or not, but he looks amazing. If you were going to create a Left Tackle on NCAA Football 2014, he would look a lot like Metz.

My guess is you'll see more transfer activity given the environment. I doubt we're locked into one spot.

Can only sign 25 in a class. We signed 24. Not sure how transfers count against the 25, but believe they do.

I don't know why more of those non-NFL guys don't come back for another year. Why not?

You've got the rest of your freaking life to never play football again. Take our word for it !!

^This was why Peyton Manning stayed for his senior year.
He understood you can't get college back and those years are precious few.
