Jamere Hill Injury
From Jordan Strack on Twitter:

More brutal news for Toledo Men’s basketball: Backup PG Jamere Hill has a broken fibula. They’re hoping he will return for the end of the year & the MAC tournament. Just an unbelievably unlucky stretch for the Rockets with injuries.

RE: Jamere Hill Injury
On the pregame show today, TK said that, about 3/4 of the way through the first practice back, Jamere went up for a rebound and came down wrong. He said that both Jamere and Brian Jones knew it was broken right away.

TK said he's out at least 4 weeks, probably more like 6 weeks. He said Keshaun will probably pick up the 7-8 minutes/gm that Jamere plays.

Keshaun's handle has improved but it still makes me nervous when he has to bring the ball upcourt vs pressure.

par for the course as a rocket fan, but about the most survivable injury we could have beyond marreon Jackson's broken shooting hand. hope he heels well and fast and isn't in too much pain. that had to hurt but it sounds like a clean break and those usually heal stronger. hope he's back for march. we saw coach k use 2 big together a bit more and have success with the press. unfortunately for the press that was prob gonna be hill's best path to contribution.

With the injury to Hill, it looks like we will be playing a 7 man rotation with the 8th player, Komagum getting spot minutes when we need to get our interior players some rest or to protect them because of foul trouble. Where he might get more minutes is in certain games like against Buffalo and Ohio where they can put out on the court some "bigs" that we might have trouble matching up with. While Hill's minutes were going to be limited, it is still going to be important that both Saunders and Rollins provide some stability when either of them are playing the point when Jackson goes to the bench.

This is where the emergence of Shumate as a major contributor and now a starter is so important for this team going forward... It looks like Maranka is getting lost in the shuffle as far as front court play goes...Possibly next year (if he sticks around) Maranka may get more PT...

I hope Komagum continues to get some playing time. With Edu out he has been a pleasant surprise for me. I like watching him play, he hustles, he's scrappy, for a big he runs the floor well, he plays defense and rebounds and I think he will continue to improve if TK is smart about how and when to use him. A couple games back he had a LeBron Jamesesque come from behind block on a fast break that was a thing of beauty.

RE: Jamere Hill Injury
minor recruiting news as rockets offer a forward by the name of maximus out of wisconsin in the 22 class. and in the 'we can hope' category mattias acunzo's hs teammate in pittsburg oscar tshiembe, a fellow international student, just left huggins at west virginia. had a big freshman year and was touted as a poss all big12 pf this season but didn't have a great start. 5 star recruit who will likely go somewhere like duke or gonzaga but maybe mattias can persuade him to come here.
