Thank God for the women preserving what little sanity and hope remain. Than you, ladies!

Koker 21 pts. Marable 14, Davis 12. NIU had 54 rebounds to WMU's 32. Northern also got 32 pts off the bench. But without the dark cloud you can't have a silver lining .. 22 turnovers.

BUT ... NIU inches ever upward ... now 3-5. Next game Weds (Jan 6) 1 p.m. at Kent State.

Note: Emerging talent? ... Jayden Marable ... hit 5 of 7 shots, 2 for 2 from 3-pt land, 2 of 2 freethrows.

Always nice to get a win. Couple of quick thoughts——what an absolute joy to see Hodges and Poisson on the court and playing well and moving well after their injuries—multiple in Janae’s case. They actually look way more healthy and close to 100% than Courtney did at any point last season.

....and on the slightly negative side——I thought I’d never say this—-but I found someone who passes the ball less than Eugene German——-Chelby Koker——by gosh—-she almost NEVER looks to distribute the ball. And there are two years in front of us.

Nice to see Paulina Castro in there too.

As for Koker, you got that right on. She wants/gets her 15-20 ppg. She's a better-than-average player (compared to?), but that's not going to help team morale ... or development of other players.

Oh my gosh——sorry, Paulina——-my mind was on the major knee blowouts and comparing to Courtney. Great to have her back from a couple different angles—-one much more important than any knee.

It was a good win and as pilot and pvk stated about Chelby, to me and watching on tv she seems to be more concerned about her personal stats than win. Typically when NIU has more T/o than assists it is a loss fortunately we got the W. Good to see Hodges and Poission on the floor.Now on to Kent State.
