Unless it’s a temporary sit out, it looks like Nowell’s attitude may have cost him his spot. Disappointing but let the next man step up.

Team did do great without him but you still want him around. Remember when Coach Foley gave Chastity Reed an attitude adjustment and that worked out great. Hope Nowell can get on the right track with a team attitude.

That felt like it was coming from Day 1.

Darrell knows what it's like to be on the other side of this, so hopefully he knows how best to handle it.

Quick class in Management 101. I am the Boss. You are a player. What I say goes.

RE: Looking like Markquis Nowell is Gone (temporarily)?
We have a long history of losing our best player due to disciplinary/attitude problems which I don't feel like documenting at this point. Steve Shields got a a lot of flack for being unable relate to and avoid dismissing "star" players. I believed that Darrell would not have this problem having been somewhat of a "problem child" as a college player and having a ton of experience dealing with NBA egos. Hopefully, this is the case and Markquis will be back next week. I do wonder what the deal with Kamani was. I don't know if there were personality issues between him and coach, or he just wanted to play at a higher level. I really liked Kamani as a person and player, but right now I sure like Nikola as a starter. Kamani coming off the bench would be great, but having Kris in that spot is fine with me as well. If we get Markquis back and stay healthy, this is definitely the type team that can surprise someone in the NCAA tournament.

I don’t think Kamani left because of any issue like this. I think he may have been pressured to try to “move up” since his brother also played in the SEC.

As for Markquis, he hasn’t indicated that he’s transferring like most players do on social media. However, I hope he doesn’t leave and I hope this disciplinary action will perhaps make him an even better player. I also hope that these 2 wins can further prove that team> one player.

Best medicine for a player with an attitude is for the team to win a couple without him.

Palermo has picked a good time to start making some noise.

No doubt Darrell proved his point that Markquis is not bigger than the team and we can win without him. Regardless, we are certainly better with him and I sure hope he comes back soon.

At least he is still listed on the roster. That is a good sign.
