If they are 12-0 next year they better be in the CFP.
I don't think it would be enough.
I think you need some sort of perfect storm where the G5 school has beaten 2 P5 conference champs during the season in order for them to make the playoff.
Iām pretty sure you are right. If UC were to beat both and run the table we will hear that a) those two teams are having down years and/or b) they had a bad start to the season but were much better teams later in the season.
It was within the realm of possibility in 2016 with Houston, who beat B12 champ Oklahoma, but they needed to (a) not lose any conference games and (b) have Louisville (who they beat handedly) win the ACC (they finished 7-1, 2nd in their division).
Yes, I've always thought that Houston had a real chance in 2016. But they tripped up in the AAC. That's the kind of OOC schedule you need.

Cincinnati fan Bill Dazzle had been prepared to ride his unicycle ā clothed in a Sesame Street Bert Muppet outfit ā through downtown Nashville had the Bearcats beaten Georgia. His victory celebration video would have been posted on this board. With this not happening today, some of you might be disappointed, whilst others are feeling a sense of relief.
On a serious note, I was proud of UC. The team battled and proved it belonged in the NY6. Full credit to Georgia for the win.
I'll consider it a disappointment only because I was actually in Nashville yesterday, lol
