UTSA up 18-16 with just under 12 minutes to play in 1H. Both teams shooting 50+% from the field so far. Owls ball coming out of TO.

6 Owls have scored. No Owl with more than 3 points.

40-34 UTSA with 3:44 to play in 1H. Owls Evee at the line coming out of TO. Teams appear pretty evenly matched.

RE: UTSA vs Owls MBB
Defense is woeful, though some of that is good shotmaking by UTSA.

RE: UTSA vs Owls MBB
Now 18-5 run since Owls had 35-30 lead has UTSA up 48-40.

Dunk by Fielder and offensive basket inteference by UTSA at the buzzer makes it 48-42 at the half.

Owls outrebounded 20-15. UTSA 8-16 from 3 pt range. Owls 5-15.

Need a quick start to the second half. This isn't a team designed to overcome large deficits.

Well Evee came out with a flamethrower. But I'm not sure it's gonna matter if we can't get a stop. UTSA's scored on every possession of the second half.

UTSA, like Rice, is a very bad team.

Evee the only thing keeping us in the game. He's already got 22 points. Rice down only 56 - 59 at 15:56

Really good resilience to take UTSA's hot start to the half and not let it beat us. Fiedler going to the line with a chance to tie.

RE: UTSA vs Owls MBB
Haven't watched our team closely this season, but tuning in now, I'm very disappointed with our off ball movement on offense. Poor spacing, lots of standing around, many miscommunications.
Has this been the case throughout the season?

RE: UTSA vs Owls MBB
I actually think our movement on offense has been pretty good in this one. I mean, UTSA's defense might be worse than ours. But we've struggled against teams with bad defenses in the past, so it's good to see us score with such ease.

Also should add that the Havsa pickup is turning into a really good one. He's not flashy, but he runs the offense well, defends well, and can make a shot when needed. I questioned that one and I'm pretty sure I'm wrong.

RE: UTSA vs Owls MBB
Pretty good sets being run on offense that are leading to open looks. And we do seem to be really good in transition. But some shocking defensive lapses every now and again (for example leaving Jackson, maybe the best scorer in the conference, wide open in the corner). 75-71 Rice at the under-7.

Rice up 75 - 71 at 7:40 mark. Mullin (11 points) heating up and now joining Feidler (10), Evee (28) and Olivari (14) in double figures. Feidler also has a team leading 7 boards and 7 assists.

RE: UTSA vs Owls MBB
Awful transition defense and then a silly turnover (Fiedler needs to be stronger) and UTSA retakes the lead. Too many sequences like that.
