Like inductchuck16 stated, Ball State was without its top rusher(Caleb Huntley) and also their top record breaking receiver (Justin Hall)...
It seems that you are trying to disparage the Ball State win. The score actually should have been more lopsided with the Cardinals leaving points off the board... SJSU had a KO return for a touchdown...
Give BSU credit where it is due...

If the regular season was different, I don't think we could have gotten past Buffalo.

I think having a one two punch of Koback and Shakif Seymour along with our starting tackles (Berg,Dumont) we could have played straight up with UB... Carter Bradley, would also probably put up big numbers...
Having Bradley as your starter from day one might have put us in the MAC championship game...

Thought it was a good game. And again the lack of penalties stands out

Happy for BSU and the MAC for the Bowl wins. Just
injecting a dose of reality as far as their opponent.
And yes, the Cards should of probably scored 3 or 4 more TDs. Thought BSU went conservative too early.
Started to lose their focus and play sloppy.

Just glad to see the MAC turn out to not be as bad as everyone thought. Ecstatic Buffalo beat Marshall without Patterson in the game. Marshall had been ranked fairly high at one point (although that was primarily because several conferences had not started play yet and were not in the rankings). Ball State handled an undefeated San Jose team the announcers couldn't stop gushing about. And they did it easily. They were ready to play - and play hard. That is really what UT is lacking. I thought the Toledo defense kept improving all year and was miles ahead of where it left off in 2019. I would expect it to be even better yet in 2021.
