I was worried about this aspect. They would come back and claim that only clothes gets 75% off or something. Sigh... waiting to hear what my order looks like. Some junk that I ordered I wouldn't want for anything close to full price. So this will probably be a mess.

I ordered an Under Armour quarter zip and t-shirt...one was discounted and the other was not. I'm not even sure if it is worth trying to recoup any of it based on the disaster it is already.

That's unfortunate. I'm sure the rise in kids renting books from Amazon and/or buying electronic copies (or finding free electronic versions of the text) really has hurt their business.

But, as much as VCB as a staple for generations and it sucks to lose the place, where one door closes, another door opens.

Maybe we'll get a place to fill in the gap that's better and actually has an online presence.

Btw, I don't want to say I'm glad their closing but at least it explains the total incompetence they demonstrated during this "sale".

Then again, maybe they're like that furniture store I always see having closeout sales and being advertised by some random dude holding a sign on the side of the road called Lazarus Furniture.

That place closes and opens up monthly (hence the name...)

Apparently, the sale has been so popular that they lost track of inventory. So now they are not even allowing any clothing purchases until they find out what they have.

I may not get anything I ordered.

This is so sad and poorly run.

BUT, I needed a hoodie to wear around the yard. Thanks to this thread, I thought I’d check out the flash sale, and found something perfect! Super high-quality reverse weave for $20. Can’t beat that! I certainly would never have heard of the place without your help. Happy to contribute to a local business.

Agreed. I think that logo looks awesome on the back of sweatshirts and jackets.

For some Reason it reminds me of Cerberus, the three headed hell hound from mythology. As opposed to reality I guess.

The 3 dog logo on top of the NIU (not on top of Northern Illinois) is my favorite. I think of it as the “team” or pack logo

You were wise. If you ordered from VCB during the sale, you may not get what you ordered.

Disappointing about VCB since I used to go there before games. Oh well. I'll have to get another source for NIU gear.

I ordered online and was nervous about receiving the discount. I called and they informed me that I would receive an email when it was processed. It ended up in my spam folder, but I did receive the 75% discount. I was hoping to get one of those Huskie tailgate tents, but they were out of stock.

So is the sale still on?

I really hope that since VCB is closing (which is really sad as it has been a staple on the campus) that an investor buys the property demos the entire thing and builds apartments on top of store fronts. Allowing for hopefully another NIU store can open there on a smaller scale and then some other food places. Would allow for a smaller amount of stores so There isn’t much vacancy and instantly add to the appearance of Lucinda. Would also allow for more “off campus” housing that isn’t affiliated with the school but right in the heart of campus. Prime location for students.

The whole strip had always looked out of place and somewhat of an eyesore.
