Indeed. Just canceled flosports. Not sure how much ball we’ll get to watch this year. Didn’t like giving in to the terrible tv deal anyways.

So what does this mean for UNCW?
Do we also automatically cancel the JMU games? If so, we will have missed four conference games and I can't see any way those are made up.
1. If we have a conference tournament, regardless if we were to win out, we would be in the play in round, if we are allowed to play in the tournament at all. Odds of winning out from there are pretty slim.
2. If there's no tournament, and the regular season champ goes to the NCAA tournament, we're out.
So, what's the point of the season now? As far as I can tell, post season is over before we started. Now we're just playing to play. If that's the case, I have no interest in the rest of this season.

I hope the first thing they do is make sure it wasn't a false positive. The article says they are rescheduling those games. And, if they have any kind of sense, they already have a plan to address if there are games canceled. They sure didn't need to follow the B1Gs example in football by hesitating on getting started.

Alot of mis steps here. They should have allowed for bigger roster sizes this year so that they could isolate folks and keep moving. Only issue would be if there was a cluster. But, that ship has sailed sadly.

Bigger roster sizes? So play with a bunch of walk-ons... I don't see how that works at all.

I believe the JMU games are canceled as they would fall within the 14 day rule.
I hope we can get stuff rescheduled but who knows

The question is: Was the conference that set up this year's back-to-back game schedule wise enough to have a contingency plan is place in the event that a single Tier One positive covid virus test blew up and entire series between two teams?
Public comments by the Commissioner give the impression that there is no actual Plan B, and that they are making it up as they go along.
Brian Mull:
Any AD or administrator I asked about the feasibility of a bubble for conference play cited the expense. But sending a team 500 miles to play zero games isn't wasteful? There was nothing to prevent a bubble from serving its purpose, other than a dearth of creative thought.

Mull is right as usual. The only way to guarantee all the conference games were played was a bubble.

Of course it’s not ideal but it keeps the season moving forward. It beats getting cancelled all together. Hell the Saints could be without their RBs for a playoff game. Expanded roster sizes DO work they did it in mlb and the nfl and both got through their seasons

Of course expanded rosters work. Those are also professional league with players available at any moment. That is not true of college sports. Kinda a big difference there.
Also not sure why with 2 teams quarantined that the other 2 couldnt have teamed up and played some games to keep games being played.

Still could have made it work, pro or not. And i 1000* agree with you on the other two teams should have played. Even if it was Sunday/Monday given the late notice.

Yes. JMU had a game sunday that was rescheduled so I get not doing it this weekend but youre telling me 2 teams that are 4ish hours apart, 5 by bus cant play 1 or 2 games on Tues/Wed and still be ready for the next weekend of games? And since JMU and Drexel play the last week of the season, that would immediately open up a "free" weekend for rescheduling future games. Makes too much sense.

RE: @ Drexel - POSTPONED (makeup TBD)
Doesn't matter how big you make the roster. They would have all been exposed to the affected player in practice. So all would be quarantined. They even had to cancel the coach's show today.

It’s silly, if they have all tested negative since it’s time to move on. But that’s not how they are/will handle it so it’s beating a dead horse
