There are plenty of games that can be day trips midweek. It is high school-ish but doable. Hop on the team bus in the morning, play a mid afternoon game, hop on the team bus and be in your own bed by 10PM.

As we see additional CAA quarantines and time gets squeezed to fit in 18 conference games, it will be interesting to see who can get it done and who can’t. The schools Like Northeastern and Charleston at the geographical extremes are at a disadvantage when it comes to last minute schedule adjustments.

One minor consideration with the FAU game it’s part of a home and home and the Dukes will travel there next year my guess is that game will be part of the Florida trip when they play the game at Florida that they were supposed to play this season until Florida cancelled.

Coach By confirmed that in today’s presser. The Dukes will play at Florida and at Florida Atlantic next year.

So the Dukes will have UVA and Florida. Hopefully he can add some more P7 teams to beef up the OOC schedule.

It will be great to see the JMU men's basketball team play in person next season after a number of years. I live about 20 minutes from FAU.

Games each day at 5pm...Sunday game will be televised via NBC-SW. Yay!

WBB games moved up to noon starts Sat & Sun (vs UNCW)...Saturday game will be televised via NBC-SW. Yay!

Now, let's just hope they go off as planned...and, the Good Guys & Gals win of course.

I may be the biggest idiot in the world for choosing to get Flo this year.

"We're" the biggest idiots in the world.

I'd buy it over again based on the same situation. Wish it was cheaper, and wish it was part of ESPN, but it's not. So I'd rather over pay to see new coach, players, and arena.

The CAA needs to schedule some mid-week games now before classes start again to try and keep the teams that are not currently having Covid issues busy.

Not really surprising. At least not to me. For the first time, COVID-related deaths in the U.S. topped 4,000 today...most in one day. Getting worse.

This sucks again.
Go find one more OOC game so the boys will be ready whenever the CAA season starts for the Dukes.

In other CAA news, Northeastern beat Hofstra tonight in a Thursday game. As expected, the CAA is wide open. Anyone, including the Dukes, can win the league this year.

Way things are going it feels like it could come down to who stays healthy March 6-9 for CAA tourney. Didn't see it listed at JMU sports, but CAA sports has it, so seems they still plan to do it.

Wonder what the ticket situation will be. Ticketmaster has a placeholder page for it, but nothing for sale yet.

Don't worry - we probably have 5,000,000 vaccinated by now.

Warp speed for the vaccine creation seemed to work. Thank God for the pharmaceutical companies.

Stagecoach speed for the distribution. 03-pissed

Hopefully with proper oversite this should be working much better by mid February.

Sad in a way that we are kind of hoping someone else tests positive and pauses to create an opening. The ones to watch would be Charleston and W&M. Drexel and Delaware are scheduled to travel to COC and W&M this weekend for double headers. My guess is they may have already done a final Covid test before hitting the road but if the host schools have a positive maybe they go to Harrisonburg instead. Should know that by today. If not maybe mid week next week for an OOC game vs a program that is affected by a conference game being cancelled.

Anybody else feel like JMU is doing a better job at minimizing Covid exposure (for the athletes) than other schools? It seems that way to me.

Yes I think they are doing a good job.

I will say being in a smaller city such as Harrisonburg (with less density) probably makes things easier than many other colleges.

Yeah it's a good thing we aren't in that hotbed Elon, NC 04-cheers

I know what you mean, but I think it's just about diligence. We have had two in MBB, one in football, and I think one in another sport (WBB or VB, maybe?). I know when the school year started we only had a sport or two that was able to practice, but since then it's been mostly smooth sailing.

RE: First Two Men's CAA Conference Games at Towson Postponed
For a brief moment I thought that this may be yet another example of how JMU is getting hosed by the CAA and they aren’t serving our interests as of of the flagship (Fall Football, Flo Sports etc) but this is out of their control and a tough situation.

I was going to say that they should have JMU play against someone else and shift things this weekend but barring a positive test somewhere else you mind as well keep the numbers even in terms of Caa hoops teams who will have played 4 games after this weekend (6) and teams who haven’t played any (4).

Once these other teams come out of pause there should be plenty of opportunity to play mid weeks etc during the heart of the conference season.

They should be calling the Dub and getting this weekend filled. They’re off till the 16Th as of now.

Not sure if I’m confusing schedules or something, but CAA site has us at UNCW this weekend and it’s been “postponed”.

WTH?

Yea, N/M. Didn’t realize Elon was a stand-in for the Dub after they got a positive test.

So, Drexel, Towson, UNCW, Elon all within a week or so. Wow.

Anyone I’m missing?

I see the A-10 tournament may get moved from Brooklyn to a campus site, maybe VCU. I have been thinking that the CAA may move it out of DC to somewhere like Elon or JMU. Makes sense.

I believe there's some luck involved as well but give a whole lot of credit to players for "behaving themselves", doing everything they can so they can improve their odds of being able to play the games. Staff and the Admin can preach all they want but the team appears to buying in.
