True...especially in light of Iowa State's NY6 win, Louisiana is looking great after the bowls. I'll bet some ballots are even going to have the Cajuns above Coastal.

Risk/reward is the answer.

OSU has 16 guys out tonight, including starters. Not enough at any group, which would be the only thing to postpone. Not that I think they stand a chance against Clemson, but they’re gonna have to put there at a distinct disadvantage. There’s now risk/reward, just “have to play”.

This whole season has one big asterisk over it, for everyone. Nothing has been normal.

Ha! This post aged well...Now we have Covid Carolina making excuses for teams who obviously don’t need to stoop to their level of chicken **** to be successful!

RE: General Bowl conversations
Hey, props to Ohio State for putting a butt whopping on Clemson. Not that I was sad to see that. Guess a whole lot of people underestimated them based on their six games.

I’m sorry the point of the whole thing went over your head. Had nothing to do with Covid or making excuses. It had to do with response to the risk/reward thing. There is no risk, being assessed by anybody, who would care about these kids or about the state of the nation. It’s all been about the reward for the NCAA, for the conferences, for the programs. This season has been a debacle, was the point, and probably never should’ve been played, nor the spring basketball season either. Because of a whole lot of people, just like you, obviously worried about only your own feelings/team, we played the season. I’m just not gonna take it as the gold standard of a season, because just like the rankings overall, everything’s been based on very little reality. There’s not enough * in the whole Houston Astros dugout to go around for everybody who either missed a game, like Louisiana, or anybody who played a team missing guys, like everybody in the country.

There are no risks being assessed.

Someone isn’t paying attention.

How many players/coaches/trainers died from COVID over the last 4 months?

Not really sure why you'd shrug off the suggestion. Sagarin and Colley both have Louisiana ahead of Coastal after bowls, and there's bound to be some recency bias in some of the voters' decisions. The Louisiana-Coastal conversation reminds me a lot of the arguments after the 1993 season, when both FSU and Notre Dame fans thought they should be #1. ND won the head-to-head but lost more recently and didn't have as flashy of a bowl finish, so the Seminoles took the "title."

That would be zero.

And how many programs had family, fans, students... and their family, friends etc... affected by symptoms.

Didn’t have an NCAA athlete/coach die? So sorry. Think the games/tailgates full program level involvement didn’t lead to spread? You’ve stupid, or naive, or both.
