Now we only have the lower rated brother who had a bunch of small schools offering him but not the brother who we really wanted. It’s like promising the hot chick you’ll take her sister with a great personality out once and then you get stuck taking her to the dance.

Schools like X who only offered Gabe have to be pointing and laughing at Brannen. It’s a cosmic knee slapper.

I don't know how you break the news to the lower-ranked player that it was a package deal and he's going to have to go play in the Horizon League, but it has to be done.

We need to have a poll to see if anyone here played high school ball and has any eligibility left.

At some point, the defections will make it impossible to have a 5 on 5 practice.

No dispute there. Can Mason hit a shot? In a real game and not just practice.

I think we're all looking to see something from this team. Because right now it's a mess. That said, I want to see what the young man has to offer. 2020-21 is a development year after the early disappointments.

Is Gabe leaving? Seems like he's just done with basically being a prisoner in his dorm room because he's a basketball player...not that he's leaving UC.

His tweet says he's just opting out for the remainder of the season. How it turns out after the season is TBD.

These players are semi-professional athletes. It's all about positioning themselves for the next level, whatever the next level may be for them.

There was not a hint of affection or respect for the coach who gave him and his brother the package deal that nobody else was offering, or for the teammates that he's leaving behind. I'm not saying Brannen is without fault; it's on him to earn the respect of his players, and there's a disturbing pattern taking hold where he's having trouble with that.

Way too many misses in a recruiting class that needed more instant impact guys. There are going to mistakes and misses in recruiting but you can’t have 7 new guys and have two leave and two that are have played due to injury ( not instant impact guys anyway) and call that a successful class for this year. UC has has basically 4 years of recruiting mistakes that were compounded by the coaching change and covid. It’s not Nancy blowing up the program bad but the current staff is close to letting it get there if things don’t turn around in 2021.

They basically need to win 12 out of 18 remaining games and hit a couple of home runs in the spring to make me feel this thing is going to get good again. Win games with your foundation and add the right guys in the spring. If the staff can’t do that then they are probably not long for this job.

Maybe I missed it, but I don’t see where Gabe is in the transfer portal or planning to leave the University. Just opting out. Obviously it’s far more likely he ends up transferring, but that’s far from certain. Maybe he just didn’t want to deal with all the Covid protocols when he wasn’t going to get any minutes this season. Makes me question how devoted he is to
improving, but let’s see how things play out.
