RE: Heinicke in for WFT...
What’s all the chatter about Tom Brady blowing off TH at the end?

Peter King and Coach Bobby said Tom was way more cordial

"Yeah. It's always really cool when you’re talking to a future Hall of Famer," Heinicke told King. "Probably the best quarterback to ever play the game. It's a neat experience. He just told me I played a hell of a game, showed a lot of grit out there. And just to keep working."

From what can be seen on camera:

TH went over to Brady and was trying to talk to him but Brady was focused on talking to Smith while TH waited to the side. Then Brady went the opposite direction and started talking to other and TH chased him down and grabbed his shoulder and they had a really quick convo.

Its probably nothing and Brady probably didn't see TH. And Brady typically only bails without shaking hands when he loses

They did after TH tracked him down a second time. He was standing next to Alex Smith when Brady was talking to Smith, waiting patiently. When Brady was finished he walked in the other direction instead of recognizing Heinicke. It may have been nothing and he just saw somebody else he wanted to shake hands with, but some people saw it as a slight.

This. They are standing close by and Brady simply didn't acknowledge or even look at Heinicke after a short conversation with Alex. Taylor had to follow up after him to greet and speak. Not saying he should go all over the field and meet all the players but when a young QB does good on the field and is waiting to talk to you at least smile and acknowledge him with out making him chase you.

Something else about Brady. After the TH touchdown pass to Sims, the camera panned on Brady mouthing "unbelievable". Most reports have that as a compliment to TH. As I watched in real time, in my opinion that is just not so. It earlier clearly showed that Brady believed the pass was not complete because Sims was juggling the ball. Then, Brady had just watched the replay and was reacting to the call that the catch was good. He thought it was "unbelievable" that the refs made such a bad call. So -- no compliment to TH at all.

Checked the WFT website and they have him at the same measurements. Not sure what you are trying to get at with the Iverson reference.

He was obviously referring to the call of a catch. But, people can go ahead and spread the news that he was talking about Heinickeeeeee :)

I got the same impression as well. He clearly disagreed with the call.

Count me in too. He looked angry that they called it a TD. I don't know what his reaction was after that and what he said about that call but the video showed him mad when that happened i am guessing that's disapproving how Zebras called it.

If you believe TH is 6'1" I have some land in Florida to sell you. It has the absolute best view of the ocean in the state. Well at least when the tide is out.

I would say he is at least 6'. I have stood next to him (I'm 6'1") and he doesn't seem noticeably shorter than me. My recollection was the he was actually taller in person than I expected him to be.

RE: Heinicke in for WFT...
Highest-graded QBs in a Wild Card game since '15:

1. 2018 Andrew Luck - 93.2
2. 2020 Taylor Heinicke - 92.0
3. 2020 Tom Brady - 90.8
4. 2020 Baker Mayfield - 90.5

That's second to only Andrew Luck out of 52 quarterbacks that played in wildcard weekend games since 2015. Awesome!

Hey he still has 3 inches and 30 pounds on Doug Flutie, who also took hits... and he played before the rules were put in place to protect the QB. And if Favre is listed at 6'2", chances are he is 6'1". The "official" numbers are exaggerated across the board. While it isn't likely 100% accurate, I still think they can be used as comparisons. I think the original question that started this argument is valid... are some more injury prone or are some just lucky. I mean wouldn't the same hit at the same angle from the same lineman break Brett Favre's bone just as much as it breaks Taylor Heinicke's?

I'm no Doctor but I'd say no. There's a bunch of things that could be different. Bone length, thickness & density. Muscle and fat mass at the point of contact.

I think some people are more injury prone than others for sure, whether TH is IDK. It could have just been unlucky to this point. Hell he had a self inflicted wound that kept him from a start while in Carolina. That's pretty misfortunate.

edit: But I don't think his size alone disqualifies him from success in the NFL.

He was targeted in the home game we played against Georgia Southern (which drew a flag and, in my opinion, should have gotten the GS player disqualified) and he bounced right back up. I know the hits are a lot harder in the NFL but I am hoping he just had a bad string of bad luck injuries. Even if he isn't durable enough to be a QB1, I would think after Saturday's performance, he must be in the top five of a lot of NFL teams QB2 list.

RE: Heinicke in for WFT...
The durability issue is almost a bigger problem for QB2, which I think is why he was out of the league before this miracle run this year. You can't have a backup QB that is going to get knocked out of the game easily, because then you have nobody left.

At his pro day, Heinicke was slightly over 6 feet tall at 214 lbs, FWIW
