He's a dual threat QB, which I think suits our current offense much better. This may entice Crawford to stay another year.

This was the 17 Rodney Hall class where he was #55 dual threat QB. Rocky was #5.

Hammock is a better recruiter.

RE: MSU QB to NIU
The rankings mean nothing if the guy can’t play. The career stats for this guy are not all that impressive.

Michigan State benched him this season after six games and in losses to Iowa, Indiana, and Ohio State he had 0 TDs and 6 INTs. Also does not look like he runs much. Negative rushing yards in four of six games this year.

MSU QB to NIU
After opening the season with back-to-back 300-plus yard games against Rutgers (319) and Michigan (323), Lombardi threw for just 448 yards passing in his final four starts, completing just 36 of 82 attempts (43.9%) and throwing two pick-sixes among his seven interceptions and just two TDs in those games.

Follow the falling dominoes...

Turns out that record setting Temple QB Russo transferred out to msu just days earlier as naperville central F Peyton Thorne took over at end of msu season.

Looking at 3rd QB position might have prompted Rocky's move to NIU.

Thanks Carey.

Yeah his best game was beating Michigan this year.

And guess who we play next year...

Love the addition. It doesn’t guarantee he starts but whoever starts next season will be solid.

Actually, Lombardi was the 5th highest rated player coming out of Iowa that year and the #13 (.8641 rating) Dual-Threat QB.

Interestingly enough the #21 (.8700 rating) Pro-Style QB in that 2017 class was Connor Neville.
