Yup, rumors are swirling that it’s a done deal and it will be announced Monday. Most of us Boise State fans are ecstatic.

Didn't know that Harsin was planning to leave.

Now, it's clear why he was at liberty to make his very strong opinion known about the importance of Boise FB leaving the MWC.

Regarding the latter, have you learned anything recent about Boise's attempts to find a BB/olympic conference?

--Are they still looking into it?

--If not WCC, WAC, or Big West, is there any possibility that they would consider the Big Sky?

--Do you think they would make the jump to the American if the AAC were to allow them to be a temporary all-sports member for 1-2 years - - long enough to figure out where to park their BB and olympic sports?

Several of our former players that are currently in the NFL have tweeted out the commitment to finding a better conference, so I think once Kellen is announced tomorrow, if that happens, then they will proceed with trying to get into the AAC but I think ideally they want to be in for all sports. The basketball team is actually really good now, they played New Mexico in two games last week and blew them out both times. But is it it is an exciting new chapter as a Boise State fan, that is for sure.

Regarding the bolded...
Clearly, in January, when Harsin (and others) were angry at the mwc publicly stating they would end the Boise sweetheart deal, he figured out that Auburn boosters would engineer Malzahn's firing 11 months in the future, so he felt free to write the earlier of the emails.
Then, in September, angry at the mwc decision not to play football, he himself figured out how to torpedo the booster's favored candidate Steele, and get "no thanks" answers from front runners like Napier, Chadwell, and Venable. Then he was free to write the September emails.

Is this the same Kellen Moore who engineered those high powered Cowboys offenses that never made the playoffs???

Looks like Boise will now wait on their HC search and will wait till they hire their new AD first...and allow that AD to make HC hire.

Since it has been reported that Boise State's administration is supporting the proposal to move to the AAC, it wouldn't depend on the AD or HC.

While there might be or might have been some inclination to join for all-sports, the distances are simply too great to make this a likely outcome.

However, if this is a sticking point from the viewpoint of Boise's administration, a savvy response by the AAC would be to offer them a temporary 1-2 year all-sports membership, which would prevent the deal from foundering and give BSU the time it needs to figure out where to play BB, etc.

The potential long-term benefits that could result from bringing Boise State aboard would dwarf the minor inconveniences of adding a long-distance travel partner for a year or two.

Specifically, the addition of Boise State as a FB member, paired with the replacement of UConn with a high-quality BB school, might present the American with the best (if not the only) possible near-term opportunity that it will have to take a major step forward toward attaining its longer-term strategic objectives.

They'll be happy if they can just win the weakest division of the MW every year. Right now they can't even make the championship game some years.

False

Comment: Since the Mountain West split into two divisions in 2013, the Mountain has dominated the West in head-to-head matchups (the West does have a 4-3 edge in MW titles). But that’s not the case this season. After the Mountain went 13-5 against the West in 2019, the West has turned the tables on the Mountain. The West is 9-1 against the Mountain with the lone loss being Wyoming’s win over Hawaii.

As to my assertion, the more battle tested division champ wins, two of those loses in the championship are also Boise, winning in the Mountains weaker years.

The mountain division has been the stronger division most every year. You said it’s weaker. Just take the L.

Wait who has more championship wins again the mighty king of the mountain or the west's very best?

Also did or did not the Moutain West have divisions this year?

To get a view of a whole divisions strength you look outside of “who won the title game”. I’ll give you a pass because you are trying so hard to slight Boise state’s accomplishments. I’m comfortable stacking them up against any g5 school.

Those division names are completely meaningless to me and probably others.
