Comment: Since the Mountain West split into two divisions in 2013, the Mountain has dominated the West in head-to-head matchups (the West does have a 4-3 edge in MW titles). But that’s not the case this season. After the Mountain went 13-5 against the West in 2019, the West has turned the tables on the Mountain. The West is 9-1 against the Mountain with the lone loss being Wyoming’s win over Hawaii.

FALSE

Comment: The MW did not have divisions this year

As to my assertion, the more battle tested division champ wins, two of those loses in the championship are also Boise, winning in the Mountains weaker years.

The mountain division has been the stronger division most every year. You said it’s weaker. Just take the L.

Wait who has more championship wins again the mighty king of the mountain or the west's very best?

Also did or did not the Moutain West have divisions this year?

To get a view of a whole divisions strength you look outside of “who won the title game”. I’ll give you a pass because you are trying so hard to slight Boise state’s accomplishments. I’m comfortable stacking them up against any g5 school.

I'm all for Boise coming to the AAC. I think you guys could become the linchpin to bringing along SDSU as all sports additions along with a Gonzaga/AIRFORCE as the 3rd and final addition, I think that would seriously pressure BYU to claim that AIRFORCE spot. Gonzaga I think would come anyway under that situation. That scenario may not "officially " become p5, but it would realistically seal the deal in the future 8 team playoff. 04-cheers

I actually went to Gonzaga. Grew up in Boise going to Bronco games so they are my team for football. I think if BYU, SDSU, and Boise were in a league together for basketball it would be attractive for GU. They really enjoy the WCC though.

Sure and we'll just glide by the MW division mistake 03-lmfao

I'm sorry not everyone thinks adding the donkeys is a good idea, but hell the people who have known you all longest have had enough of you so it shouldn't be a surprise.

I like this.......if it makes current conference schools a net increase in revenue. No reason to let personal fan negatives get in the way of producing more revenue. But absent the revenue bump, no need for expansion.

Well, if they beat the Giants this week (which is VERY likely) the Cowboys are the NFC East champs.

They'll be happy if they can just win the weakest division of the MW every year. Right now they can't even make the championship game some years.

Those division names are completely meaningless to me and probably others.

In fairness, the conference names actually mean something. The West division are all of the California, Nevada and Hawai'ian teams and the Mountain division are all of the mountain adjacent teams (BSU, USU, NM, Wyoming, CSU and AFA).

Not quite; if Washington beats Philly, they are the NFC East champs.

I hope Moore turns out to be a good hire for them. A visit from the guy who made the play that put Boise on the map ought to be good for recruiting. Hopefully his play calling and staff choices can translate in coming talent into wins

Do you think Gonzaga could possibly afford it, even playing in an AAC West division (Gonzaga, BYU, SDSU, Boise, Wichita State, Tulsa, Houston, and SMU) if they could only be guaranteed ~$2 M/year in revenue from ESPN if paid on a par with Wichita State, given that the travel costs would be so high?

It seems possible that the only way it could possibly be affordable to Gonzaga or anyone else would be if - by adding Gonzaga (BB/oly), BYU, SDSU, and Boise (FB-only), the AAC could obtain a sizable boost in revenue from ESPN, up from ~$7 to ~$8+ M/year per all-sports school, from ~$5 to ~$6+ M/year for FB members, and from ~$2 to ~$3+ M/year for BB members. A boost in the $1 million/year range would amount to a cost-of-travel adjustment to make the traveling expenses affordable.

Not sure if even an increase to $3 million/year would be enough to convince Gonzaga to switch to the AAC, given that they're almost guaranteed an annual trip to the NCAA as things currently stand.

Moore to Boise
Herman flamed out at two AAC schools, let Boise have him.

SMU was going to hire him before Chad Morris, but one of the trustees saw Herman leaving the interview at SMU and cussing out his wife in the parking lot and we decided to go with Chad instead.

I honestly don't care who Boise ends up with.
But hometown hero gets money-whipped by Jerry Jones (after Jerry's first response was "he should definitely consider that")
Choice two is Avalos...if he feels the orange and blue glow is fading, well, then what?

Honestly Herman could be a good fit...well, fair...get some TX recruiting...neither side of the negotiations worried about a downgrade in classiness...
