It will be interesting to see whether San Jose State can leapfrog both if it beats MAC champion Ball State to finish the season undefeated.

UB got a quick touchdown and left MU with time to drive down, but hung on for a win. Liberty decided to run out the clock (which I generally agree with) yet here we are going to overtime.
I might have kneeled on first down to cut it to about 30 seconds and then tried to go for the TD. 7 points is always better than a FG attempt.
Not when the FG is from point-blank range and will come with less than 10 seconds left in the game. I will take that over any other scenario all day.

Really? I watched it and the only thing that stood out a little for me was the refs were swallowing their whistles on holding calls. Which I like, because I hate holding calls, LOL.

You didnt see the missed pass interference on Liberty in OT? It was probably the worst one since the Rams and Saints a few years ago.

Yes, I did see that. Not sure it was in Rams-Saints league. I didn't think it was anything out of the ordinary.

We've gone from in the span of a few weeks having undefeated Liberty, BYU, Coastal, Buffalo and San Jose St to throw fire into the system down to just having San Jose St as the lone undefeated non-access bowl representative.
Its too bad Coastal went down as the argument for more CFP representation is disappearing.
RE: FBC Mortgage Cure Bowl: Liberty vs Coastal Carolina
Congratulations to both Liberty and C. Carolina. Thanks for the entertainment of two really good football teams that I've enjoyed following this season.

Yeah. It was a pretty routine play. That usually doesn't get called in the last minute and probably only gets called half the time during the rest of the game.

Auburn transfer.
Willis is the key reason why LU went from 8-5 in 2019 to 10-1 in 2020.
Yes, he was clearly a cut-above everyone else on the field, both teams, in terms of size and speed. It just shows you the kinds of players Auburn-types get by comparison to Coastals and Libertys.

Yes, I did see that. Not sure it was in Rams-Saints league. I didn't think it was anything out of the ordinary.
The officiating was horrendous all night long and it started early on in the game when Liberty shoved a ball carrier out of bounds and into the Coastal bench where they proceeded to push him a good 6 or 7 yards beyond the boundary. A scuffle started and an official grabbed a Coastal players arm while the player was facing the scuffle. When the player brushed the arm off, not knowing it was an official, they flagged the kid and ejected him from the game, but no flag was tossed for driving the ball carrier so far out of bounds and literally dumping him right at the benches.
Minimally there should have been two flags one on Liberty for a personal foul and one on the player who brushed the officials arm away from his. I'm not sure an ejection was merited under the conditions.
The pass interference wasn't the only blown PI call of the night either. Receivers were tackled, tripped, or held with the ball in the air on several occasions and no flags were tossed and most of the no calls were Liberty defenders tackling Coastal receivers. Ball spots were lousy all night as well, unless reviewed. It was a MAC crew of mostly older, and fat, officials. It was pathetically called game and how anyone with any football sense could miss that is beyond comprehension.
Side note: Willis played great. He left Auburn because nobody was replacing Nix, no matter how bad he played. I can't blame Willis, but this is another reason patience with Gus was over.

Willis looked a lot better than Nix.
Don't remember now who it was, but simple cutbacks left defenders flat footed. I think it was the Liberty defenders against the CCU RB. Willis, on the other hand, was just faster and stronger.
