RE: Returning Players
Not sure overall who we're losing, but I know Haydel isn't returning. Wants to shoot his shot at the NFL. Probably not the best move but we all wish him the best and hope he makes it big. And then y'all probably remember our CB who was killed last month, RIP. So at the very least we're down two quality players.

Mitchell, Chris Smith & Emani Bailey is best guess for RB rotation in 2021.

Hybrid LB Chauncey Manac will be back.

Christmas 2021 surely came early this year with manac, Mitchell, LL and others coming back. Not to mention Napier. 2021 for the Cajuns will make 2020 Cajuns look mediocre. GEAUX Cajuns!!!

According to BOP: "Patrick Toney said he expects the defense to return intact. I don't need to state how big that is."
I highly doubt Mitchell will be returning. With that said the Louisiana defense is gonna be straight fire in 2021! We are getting just about everyone back plus some very solid additions.

RE: Returning Players
Arkansas State has lost 3 players(Jonathan Adams, Forrest Merril, Cottengim) getting ready for the NFL draft, 8 to transfer portal so far(Logan Bonner, Justin Rice, Javonis Isaac, Caleb Bonner, Jarrett Horst, etc.) and I'm not sure how many will just choose not to come back. Hopefully the younger players and new transfers will help.

JD King (lead the Sun Belt in rushing before his ACL tear)
Darrell Baker (guy with lots of experience in the secondary)

Not returning:
Raymond Johnson (defensive end, not surprising at all, could be drafted in the NFL)
Rashad Byrd (linebacker who has showed up on more than one all-conference list over the years)

Key guys we're waiting to hear from:
Shai Werts (he made his approval of the hiring of Doug Ruse as our new OC pretty clear on Twitter)
Randy Wade (one of the better line-of-scrimmage linebackers in the league for sure)
Drew Wilson (starter on the OL we'd like to have back)

There's a growing rumor that Werts may return as a WR

I honestly wish Levi Lewis would move to the slot. He is so elusive in the open field. But there is zero chance of that happening.

That Werts training video definitely caught my eye as well, but I think it far more likely he’s training up for a pro day or possibly to transfer elsewhere to a more pass oriented team to improve NFL chances. Can you imagine how weird it would be for the 4 year qb starter to stay on the same team as a wr/slot? Dont get me wrong, I’d love to see it happen.

With Levi Lewis returning, 21-4 as a starter under Napier, along with just about every other Senior...that’s a tall order. I’m high on GS and definitely think they can make a push, but Louisiana has to be in the drivers seat.

Talk about! Could you imagine Werts in the slot of a high powered spread offense?

He at times wishes he had been a Mountaineer I’m sure.

Makes sense to move to slot receiver to make a NFL roster. He's not a Sunday QB. If he decides to take advantage of the extra year to learn that position, it may be better or even easier at a different school. Interesting set of options.

I really like Byrd. Quality young man that App recruited really hard. Really torn between us & GASo and his Mom was really sick at the time and he wanted to be close to home. Can't blame him for that at all. Never heard about his Mom. Very nice lady and I sure hope she recovered.

Great kid and he will be missed. Best I can recall his mom is now doing ok. He formed quite a bond with Coach Anderson at stAte when he was dealing with his wife’s cancer; just a quality kid, loved having him here, pretty good LB too! Lol

Good to hear his Mom is doing good. Thanks for the Intel. Yep, not a bad player at all....

Troy's starting Center is returning.

All five OL starters have pass-blocking grades above 77.0, making them the fifth-best unit in college football... and now we're getting all of them back.
