Interesting. Can't see any offers for her yet. Like Noveroske, it's hard to judge a player like that in HS when she is blocking all kinds of shots almost standing flat on the floor. Could be a sleeper tho.

She's a class of '22 and UT has no available scholarships for 22 right now.

A little background. Raw but has b-ball in the genes.

UT continuing to work the local prospects with an unofficial visit from 2024 G Kendall Braden from Toledo Christian. You may remember her from a story Jordan Strack did about a year ago where he proclaimed her to be the next Zia Cooke.

UT offered her a while back, and I believe that is still her only offer so far.

She is an interesting one...multiple people locally have said that the transfer from Notre Dame mid-season was due at least in part to her lack of coachability and desire to do her own thing on the court. I guess going to a non-competitive league will allow you to do that, but does it really help your development?

I've heard that the dad can be a bit of a handful as well.

Yeah, Cullop has shown in the past that she is not big on dealing with...interesting...parents, but I think Braden is just too good not to at least toss an offer at.

RE: WBB Recruiting 2022+
More offers coming out of the most recent showcase visits. Rockets have been targeting Wisconsin of late.

2024 6'2 F Riley Smith of Kettering Alter
reportedly her 1st offer.

2024 6'0 W Kayl Peterson from Waupun, WI
Offers from Green Bay, Marquette and Minnesota
https://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/kayl-pe...efault.htm

2025 6'1 G Kristina Ouimette from Lakeland, WI
Holds an offer from Illinois
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6ozCyfGgCE

Both the WI girls seem to be big time shooters already.

Rockets seem to be offering a number of kids who already have P5 offers of late, which I have not seen so much in the last few years. Wonder if there is any realistic chance to sign any of them. Also, hardly any new 2023 offers of late. UT should have at least 2 spots for the '23 class, plus any transfers or players deciding not to use their COVID 5th year. Hopefully that's because they feel they have a few players already locked in for that class.

RE: WBB Recruiting 2022+
Coaches Cullop and Ivey both have tweeted tonight about big news and the Rocket family growing, which I am guessing means a new verbal. We will have to wait to see if more news comes out.

as I have said before UT technically has no slots in '22, so either this is a very early '23 verbal, or the staff already knows someone is not planning to return after this season. The most likely player in that situation would be Lance, if she decides not to use an extra year.

Stephens today tweeted his standard Space Shuttle Liftoff gif that he does whenever they get a commit, so that seems to confirm they have a new verbal, but I have not been able to find any inkling of who that might be yet. Keep your eyes and ears open.

OK, here's the 1st verbal. (Rumor is they have 2.)

2023 5'8 PG Cadence Dykstra from West Catholic, Grand Rapids, MI.
Offers from CMU, WMU, Miami, Monmouth, Evansville, Oakland. I see one post that she is getting interest from Indiana as well.

RE: WBB Recruiting 2022+
Dykstra kinda looks like Sophia Wiard 2.0, at least on paper.

West Catholic is only like 25 miles from Oakridge, Wiard's HS. They are similar size. Scouting reports say she's not the fastest, but great ball handler who can penetrate and dish and get to the hoop. Sounds like Wiard. Also, as I recall, Sophia verballed to UT pretty early as well.

UT has really worked that part of Michigan, recalling that Ana Capotosto was from Saugatuck which is also not far away, and they had that commit from Arieonna Ware from Battle Creek. They also have an offer out to a young lady from Byron Center which is a suburb of Grand Rapids. Wonder how UT made such inroads there, which you might think would be WMU and CMU territory.

But can she hit the 3/4 court jumper consistently?
