WBB Recruiting 2022+
Starting a new thread since the old one got too big for the system.
UT has offered 2022 5'6 PG Kaia Henderson from New Hartford, NY. Same general vicinity as 2021 signee Jessica Cook, so UT clearly has some in to recruiting up-state NY now.
She has offers from Syracuse, UMass, St Bonaventure and a few others. She has over 1800 points as a sophomore, what? ... apparently she was playing varsity ball before she was in 9th grade. Didn't know that was allowed.

What is needed is a 6’5” post, not another 5’6” guard.

Some school systems allow 8th graders to play on high school teams.

Good luck with that.

If Cullop is ever on the Coaches' Show someone needs to ask her why the big freshman isn't playing.

That's all she is able to recruit, what a waste of UT money. A good teacher doesn't win basketball games, big post players do.

We have a freshman 6-4 post, but nobody will say why she doesn't play; even mop-up time. Is she still injured? Is she even on the team???

I don't know the answer to your questions, but Bolser was not that highly regarded as a high school player, and then she faced injury problems. Cullop tends to take her time breaking in new centers, so Bolser never figured to play much this year. I agree, though, that not even stepping on the court indicates perhaps an injury or some other problem.

She's been listed as injured for all but a couple of the early games of the season. Unsure what the injury is.

Nope, at least certainly not in the MAC. OU hasn't played a post in years, and doesn't start (or hardly play) anyone 6' or over. BG had a fairly dominating post player the last couple years in Perry, and she no longer starts and only gets spot minutes. They don't start a player taller than 5'10 and I don't think anyone would say that has hurt this year's team. CMU doesn't have a traditional big post - last season their post player started, and often played 5-7 minutes before sitting most of the rest of the way. She's getting more minutes this year, but hardly qualifies as a dominating big post.
In fact if you look at the top 25 scorers in the MAC this season, only 7 are 6' or taller, and of those I would only qualify 2 as true post players (Blackford @ KSU and McLaughlin @ MU). The rest are wings, or 4s at best. Three of those 7 players play for WMU or MU who have a combined 1 conference win thus far. Even 13 out of the top 25 in rebounding this season are under 6'.
The women's game (at least in the MAC) is way ahead on the "positionless basketball" that Kowalczyk keeps talking about. The MAC is about guard quickness, good defense and three point shooting for the most part. Even a school like Kent which is pretty big only seems to win big games if they hit ton of threes. Same with NIU.

Saw a blurb on twitter that incoming recruit Jessica Cook is averaging 27 points per game so far her senior year, and her team is 8-0.

Has leg or foot problems, hopefully will be ready to go next year. CC had better start looking over her shoulder, 26 - 29 over the last 2 years, not good. New AD, will not put up with that for very long.

Well, if you're right about the leg or foot problems that's the first news we've had all year. You would think the Blade reporter would have asked. If it were the men's team they would have put out a press release, but Cullop won't for some reason. We also have a new JC player who averaged 20ppg but has played 5 minutes. Did anyone ever think to ask why? It's easier getting information from the Kremlin.

If you have seen any of those 5 minutes Colon played you would understand why she isn't. Did not seem ready to compete in D1 ball. You miss some.

Morgan-Elliott a significant surprise. Wonder what happened there. So, now 3 spots open.
I wonder what happened with Arieonna Ware. After she didn't sign her NLI, I have not seen her name associated with any other schools, so I wonder if she is still in play, or something else happened there too.

We're thin at point guard. Johnson wasn't the answer, but we still need a back-up for Wiard. I'm definitely surprised by Morgan-Elliott. We need to make really good use of these extra scholarships. Still no word on Areionna Ware, who verbally committed but then didn't sign.

Does MME want less playing time??
If this is true, its got to be more about chemistry than playing time! What is going on?
