Yea, a whole bunch of "don't californicate Idaho" stickers. The thing is that it is the conservatives flooding the state because we tend to be conservative here. Problem is that we were always a moderate conservative state until this huge flood of Q people.

5 Fun Facts About Idaho

1. Like a lot of other states, Idaho’s name originates from a Native American word. The word sounds very similar to the state’s name and is translated to “I guess we'll stop here”.

2. Idaho’s nickname, the Gravel State was given to the state due to the sheer abundance of gravel at the state’s disposal – 72 different types to be precise.

3. Located in Cottonwood, Idaho, you can stay at the Dog Bark Park Inn, which is a bed and breakfast shaped like a giant cat.

4. The capital city of Idaho is Boise, boasting a population of over 40,000, Boise boasts the highest population out of all the cities within the state by a long shot, the second-highest being Meridian, with a population of over 14,000.

5. Despite being landlocked geographically speaking, you can still reach Idaho by sailing from the Pacific Ocean! You can do this by traveling through various sewage systems, namely the Snake River and Columbia River.

Give it a rest. Metro area of Boise is: 749,202. Metro of Greenville Carolina is: 920,477. Gee, you're almost the size of New York City.

Idaho is a beautiful state. So is Boise. You have anything in Carolina that looks like this?

Yeah I heard they're hitting Texas hard. They're locusts. They've already destroyed Oregon and Washington. People here have stickers on their cars saying, "Thanks for supporting our economy. Now go home".

Out here in Colorado, if we see a car with California tags that's moving in any direction but west, we assume they're lost. It's our duty to make things right. We just point them in the right direction, bid them a polite goodbye, and send them on their way.

We're not quite as polite here I think. They're selling their shitbox houses for twice the price of an average home here in Nevada. The prices of homes here have skyrocketed. My home has gone up over 30% in just two years. Great for me. Terrible for my kids. This is what they do.

They're a virus. Instead of fixing their own shithole, they cut bait and run. They're like a bad penny. You can't get rid of them.

It would be interesting to have a mini-discussion on the implications if Boise St. does join the AAC:

1) How will it affect the rest of the AAC FB and BB programs?

2) What impact will it have on the AAC's relations with ESPN, its broadcasting schedule, etc.?

3) What impact will it have when the contract with ESPN is renegotiated about 10 years from now?

4) Will adding Boise move the AAC toward autonomy and power status, or will it just be a dead end, leading nowhere?

5) Will the AAC stop at 12 with Boise St. or will the addition of Boise be stage 1 in a two-stage plan to expand to 14 FB/BB schools?

6) How will the departure of Boise affect the MWC? Will they reload, and if so, which school(s) will they add?

.

TEP would be the leading candidate to replace Boise but they might stay right where they are. No sense moving to a conference that has lost it's main attraction and that might lose 2 more schools to the AAC in an attempt to build a western wing a few years later. The MWC would be relegated to CUSA and Sun Belt status at that point anyway. NMST would be a great add basketball wise and would keep MWC travel to a minimum.

That probably makes the most sense. If their network would permit it, they might to well to reload with both UTEP and New Mexico State, since they could use another basketball program, given that Hawaii is a FB-only member.

Either that or UTEP plus New Mexico State could shift their BB/olympic sports from the WAC to the MWC, again to fill the gap left by Hawaii being FB-only.

.

The other thought, of course, being North Dakota State (FB-only)...

.

If there is any accuracy to the previous discussions between BSU & AAC, BSU was ready to come for all sports but not just FB. If that premise still exists, I would have to think it will require a western div to get an expansion. So I would think, we are probably talking an expansion to 14 schools with all 3 being western adds.

Boise, CSU, and Air Force if BYU can't be influenced to join for all sports for the western wing. If BYU could be influenced to join, go for BYU, Boise, and Air Force all sports.

Both of those would work, as would Boise, SDSU, and either Air Force, BYU, or CSU.

RE: ****** THE ULTIMATE OFFICIAL BOISE MEGA THREAD TO END ALL THREADS ******
I came across this story on one of Temple's message boards and found it popping up on numerous other message boards as well:

"You can tell it's almost summer, because here come the realignment rumors.
Boise State, SDSU and UNLV in talks to join the American conference. Per sports radio

Would give the American 14 football teams and 14 basketball schools with Wichita State hoops-only and Navy football-only.

Would be nice for the guaranteed G5 slot, but the Sun Belt teams did pretty well last year as well. Tough to always be the best out of 5 conferences.

Matt @KySportsRadio Sources confirm meetings between Mountain West and AAC. Boise State along with San Diego State and UNLV to AAC. Air Force was also in discussions but AAC didn’t want a 2nd military academy.
— Lloyd Woosley (@ColonelGator) May 5, 2021

https://twitter.com/ColonelGator/status/...5619093505

Heads Up: This morning from BTM - The Source.

“Boise St is on the AAC’s doorstep. Expect at least one partner in San Diego St to make move together. Up to two more additional schools could be added to the flow. The heavy push to seal it up is between now and start of July.”

More speculation of BSU to AAC "rumors"

The only question for Boise State and SDSU is where will the Olympic sports go? That looks like the Big West, based on Boise State emailing the league steadily the past year. As for the third, BYU is in a "move it or lose it" situation without any route of its own to an NY6 Bowl. https://t.co/rOypAGQU7q— C. Austin Cox (@CAustinCox) May 5, 2021

I didn’t receive much extra info. Timing before start of July seems significant. Where the Olympic sports go I don’t know. I didn’t receive any other university names beyond Boise St and San Diego St.— Greg Flugaur (@flugempire) May 5, 2021

I can confirm meetings between Mountain West schools and the AAC. Sources are saying Boise State will be moving to the American conference along with San Diego State and UNLV. Air Force was also in discussions but the American didn’t want to add a second military academy.

RE: ****** THE ULTIMATE OFFICIAL BOISE MEGA THREAD TO END ALL THREADS ******
.

These are just rumors, but they're being discussed on the BYU and Boise State message boards.

Some of the sources seem to be a bit "sketchy," but apparently, "BTM" refers to a source (a website, radio station, blog?) associated with the Big Ten in some way.

The only solid or serious lead suggesting any confirmation of the story would seem to be the post referring to Matt @KySportsRadio.

.

The question is whether this is just idle speculation, or whether there is something to it.

They say that "where there is smoke, there's fire"... ...but not always.

Yet, even if they are just rumors, they are at least consistent with a few fairly recent posts on this message board suggesting that there have probably been continuing talks between the AAC, Boise, and at least one or two other western schools.

I have to admit long ago I drove through the area, even lived in the state as a little kid while my father was with the Marine Corp. Very pretty. I just would never trade your little foothills for our mountains. Nice place to visit but I am not moving. I can go fly fishing in a perfectly clear river that runs right through the middle of town, 150 feet from the stadium.

I get it though, it will never be a pretty as "home". Fortunately for all of us, that is someplace other than where the rest of us call "home".

I appreciate your clearing up the Greenville/Ashville issue for me. To be honest I haven't taken a "real" trip east of the Mississippi in 30 years. I need to get out more often. Too hard to leave home when ... yes that first pic is the type of scenery I see almost every weekend.

Is it really at a "stand off" where BSU won't move unless it's all sports and the AAC is demanding football only? There may not be a good solution for BSU's olympics.

That is possibly the situation. I am not involved with the discussions... Although they really should consult with me.

The Problem is... where do our Olys go. I have heard rumor that placing our olys else where is not being well received by the options available as well as the alumni.

Doing right by FB and destroying the rest of sports is not really and acceptable option.

I also hear rumor that the AAC accepting all sports MIGHT work if there was a western division. But then what would that look like and who would be involved? What would be the best for the AAC? Who is actually considering it? What would it all look like? I think that is where we are all making guesses.

The 'good' solution is 14 teams Aresco alluded to to in his comments in Dallas. Three would be from the west. Get used to it. this is what will happen. Big Ten Man said so.

Someone should tell you that he was making fun of Boise and the Boise guy wasn't making fun of anyone. Someone should also tell you that Asheville is 330 miles west of Greenville.

1) Photo of Idaho that is closer to Boise than Asheville is to Greenville by two hours.

Wrong Greenville, that's the one in SC. Greenville, NC is half of that.

I really am pretty slow... but like I said, I eventually catch on... This is all an ECU vs App state inside thing that went right over my head.

Thank you all for having some patience with me. I will slowly catch on to some of this.
