Clearly we are in a significant high case period right now which may prove to be too much. Certainly the college will face challenges for the spring semester, but have taken another good step in getting pre-testing done prior to the campus return.

Yep. Considering how at this point, with no other students around, how many teams are having to pause, I wonder if it would be best to take a tact similar to what Pitino proposed -- shut down for a month or so and try to start back up when the country's in a better place covid-wise. And that's even without thinking about the health and safety ramifications of trying to play right now.

No knowledge and not to belabor the discussion, but it is a simple possibility that Thornton was Covid exposed with a family member during his Xmas return home and has been in required quarantine before returning to the program. We are all in that realm of possibility regardless of safety precautions and adhering to any protocols. Let's hope he is in good health and back soon.

We wont really be in a better position until late April, and that only puts us just off the brink...back to Defcon2

Breaking Covid protocols is not "trivial". He risks catching it and then spreading it to the entire team. Missing any more games would thoroughly disrupt the remainder of the season (even more so than it has already been disrupted).

It's not trivial in an absolute sense, but given the other theories about his absence, that could easily be considered trivial in comparison.
Zorch understood my point.

We can butterfly effect everything.

Understand my point. Words matter. If you didn't mean "trivial" then don't say "trivial". Covid effects are not trivial.

I definitely meant what I wrote, and, everyone understood my point, except you. Or, your intent is to argue and I'm trying to take the high road so...have a peaceful day, Zorch.
