Bear Bryant finalists

Any time you can name a coach who took his team to a 4-2 record with losses to Cal (their only win) and Oregon State (whose only wins were Cal and to this candidate), you HAVE to select him over a coach who took his team to an undefeated record and an NY 6 bid.

Un-freaking-believable.

He won Iowa St’s first conference round robin since 1912.

Brent Brennan should get that award, but he's not even on the list.

Even so, pulling that off in a small Midwestern state that already has a really solid rival program is a feat to be admired. Though Tom Allen has a really good case as well.

If it's purely about accomplishments in the strictest sense then the national title winning coach should have the award every single season.

Obviously nobody saw how high Campbell ranked his own squad after the Oklahoma loss.
