He’s about on par with my winning percentage as well.

Any news with White and Tucky? I saw White post some stuff that all teams who didn't draft him will feel him 10 years from now.

White is a baller, but his size will kill his chance to get on a roster. The NFL is all about guys having the right measurements. He is not just the average height of an NFL linebacker, he would be the shortest.

An NFL team would be wise to pick up Tucky to play special teams.

Tucky was training all spring to transition to long snapper actually.

He's also too light.

The lightest linebackers at the NFL combine from 2017-2019 were LSU's Donnie Alexander (213 pounds) and Auburn's Darrell Williams (219 pounds). Neither played in the NFL. White weighed in at 202 during his pro day.

The two shortest were Temple's Avery Williams (5'9.1") and Vanderbilt' Jordan Griffin (5'10.5"). Neither of them played in the NFL. White measured at 5'8.6".

I wonder if he could move back to safety? Do you know what he ran in the 40 at the proday?

At minimum he'd be a special teams beast. He also has ball handling skills (is that what it's called in football) from his days as an RB at LaSalle. Question is, would a team sign someone like him just to be a special teams player? Someone needs to give him a chance/tryout. The local team would make sense.

No; they would not sign him exclusively for special teams. Special teams players tend to be rangier as well. Most of your special teams guys are WR, TE, LB with borderline NFL size; not a college LB who's to small to play safety. Great college player but NFL football is not in his future.

He's not going to be a LB for sure but I don't know how you determined he's absolutely too small to play safety. He's clearly on the very low end at 5086, but Lamarcus Joyner (5’ 8”) and Tyrann Mathieu (5’ 9”) have carved out nice careers in the NFL. Weight wise, White is listed at 202, Joyner is 194 and the Honey Badger is 190. Speed numbers vary on each of them, but White is probably the slowest of the three although White's 4.58 at UC's Pro Day is respectable.

White faces a challenge obviously starting with getting into an NFL camp. Guys like Joyner and Mathieu are rare talents. But I'm not sure I trust lay people who claim to know what can and cannot happen from there.

I'd agree with your statement.

One other thing: White is super-strong for a safety. He put up 22 reps on bench, which would put him top-3 among safeties who were drafted (although he actually tied with Wiggins, showing what a rare athlete Wiggins is).

Perhaps if he focused his training on quickness rather than strength, he could get his speed numbers down to where he'd be considered for safety? It may be too late for that though. And I'm talking out of my rear end here, so I don't even know if it's possible.

RE: 2021 NFL Draft
Not too shabby Mr. Hudson...

Quote:The Cleveland Browns signed offensive tackle James Hudson III on Tuesday. Hudson is the fourth member of the club’s eight-person draft class to be signed.

Selected in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft at No. 110 overall, Hudson’s contract will be worth about $4.157 million, with a signing bonus of $677,148, over four years, according to Over The Cap’s predetermined draft chart. Hudson’s cap hit in 2021 will be approximately $831,340.

Originally recruited as a defensive tackle, the 6-foot-4 and 313-pound Hudson was a one-year starter at left tackle for the Cincinnati Bearcats. Despite his limited experience, Hudson did a solid job with the Bearcats, according to Pro Football Focus:

The Browns are set at offensive tackle with Jedrick Wills Jr. and Jack Conklin, which gives Hudson an opportunity to work on his game this season and develop into a solid backup option along the offensive line.

Hudson will wear No. 66 with the Browns.

RE: 2021 NFL Draft
Another update on Browns' rookie James Hudson...

Quote:Offensive line coach Bill Callahan was pleased with rookie tackle James Hudson III in OTAs. The starting O-line is set, but Hudson could become a key reserve. He should play a lot in the three preseason games, especially if the fourth-rounder looks good in early practices.

Hudson Off To A Promising Start
