I still say James Smith has the best NFL career out of all of them.

3/32 of the punters in the NFL will be Bearcats.

That would really perplex the British.

Probably, if you're ranking by # of games played. But I bet Hudson plays more snaps and makes more money over the course of his career.

One good LT contract is worth 5 good punter contracts.

Smith should still be able to bring back a lot of dollerydoos to Australia when his time is up. Probably will be able to pay for a lot of long distance calls.

Plus, unlike most NFL players who get a large pile of cash early and blow it, Smith will likely get a great steady income for several years. Once he blows the first batch, he should learn better how to properly manage his later earnings.

Reminds me of the difference between Gronk and Kelce's conversations about first contracts. Gronk was very public about not using a dime of his NFL Contract money and living on endorsements while Kelce said he had used every cent of his first contract by the time he signed his second.

I'm gonna defend Kelce on that. His first contract was for 4 years at $781k/year, and he didn't have Gronk's endorsement income. After the second season it was pretty obvious that Kelce was going to get a massive raise. There was little reason to delay any purchases.

Kelce's second contract was $46 million. The signing bonus alone ($9.8 million) was 3 times his entire 4-year rookie contract.

Bolded, let's hope with that kind of money (plus plenty of endorsements, etc.) he remembers UC in some significant way when plans are being finalized for a permanent indoor practice facility. Some naming in that facility for him would be very timely too as recruits will definitely know his name.

My guess is Kelce's endorsement money is going to be fairly significant relative to his contracts before it's all over. He's likely to be in football long after his career ends given his personality and looks. Unlikely he's going to ever be short of cash.

He's also likely to retire as the most statistically prolific TE of all time (he's on pace to surpass Gronk and Tony G). I believe he just won the Walter Payton Man of the Year award for his charity works in KC. At this point, I just think it's cool he still reps UC and comes to games and such. he's a megastar.

That'd be great for UC, but it's pretty rare, isn't it? Football players already do a lot for the school & they don't owe us anything IMO.

By the way, he's on his 3rd contract now. It's for $57 million.

Yeah, he has done more than enough by being a high profile professional athlete who drops the brand quite a bit. That's all you can really ask for most of the time IMO.

I’m good with what Kelce does for the program. Now, if I win this week’s PowerBall I will put him to shame.

Oh you best believe I'm giving all the money necessary to lock up the President's Suite for life AND block Doss from re-upping his club tickets so he has to slum it.

Might I suggest investing in the Bearcat Banter Mod Appreciation Fund?
