Glad we wasted that scholarship.

Seems to be over, for sure. I can't imagine that he'll get another D1 offer, but I wish him the best. Playing D1 sports is a lot of work and I know some people who lost their passion/joy because it becomes so much like a job. I'm not sure of his situation, and I recall Siddle saying that he was looking for to coaching and mentoring Steere. Hopefully Steere can find what drives him on or off the court. It was a gamble that doesn't appear to have paid any dividends for the bball program, but there's very little long-term impact.
No, but the short term impact for minimized by Pridgen being eligible immediately. He got lucky

We got lucky with Pridgen, but maybe not with Steere. We got lucky with Harvey, but maybe not with Carr. We got lucky with Bowen stepping up, but not with any other big man offers this year. You always take chances with players. There's never a guarantee on just how well any player will pan out until they get here.
I don't understand what more should be expected from a first year coach, taking over a program that was dwelling on bottom in the conference. We will finish 6-3 in non conference play. And that's with playing most games with 7 or 8 players. Did everyone expect Siddle to walk in and fill every need for this program right away? I'm seeing a great start for a team to picked to finish at the bottom.

You are comparing apples to oranges. None of the other guys had huge red flags and failed at multiple spots prior to coming here.
Coach has done some very good things in a short period of time, signing Steere wasn't one of them.

Your argument was about being lucky. So you know what you can do with those apples and oranges. LOL

Interesting that reporter t’ed up a chance for Ty to bash the previous regime but he refused to go there. Good for him, seems like a good kid glad he’s finally healthy.
