I said I don't see it yet. I watched the ECU game and we had the same issues.

Poor rebounding, poor shot selection, can't hit FTs, turnovers galore, and very few assists. Just like the LR years.

Yes, it is VCU and yes we've been on a COVID break. It is still reasonable to expect some fundamental changes from last year. I don't see much so far after watching 4 games.

I don’t know why Mensah hasn’t clicked yet but his size would help a ton in rebounding. We were getting killed on the boards.

I’m going to sound like get-off-my-lawn-guy but the style of play around most of basketball these days is just nauseating to watch.

I agree...everybody plays like their rosters are full of nba stars.

Fundamentals win games for less talented teams and I can't remember a fundamental JMU team.

Set a damn pick once or twice a game, superior nothing besides coaching required.

According to the announcer talking with Coach B:
“We almost played DePaul, we almost played Florida, and this is probably the worst game for us based on how VCU plays.”

Curious what adjustments we see in second half.

Poor shooting, poor passing, poor ball-handling, poor free throwing shooting. On the other hand, the team is really good at turning the ball over and taking poor shots.

The defense Finally got a little better when they started zoning some. At least limited the destruction that was happening in the paint.
The offense? I couldn’t tell you what they are trying to do. Even in half court sets it looks like the first man win the ball and space is allowed to shoot it. Not working to get the best shot at all.

The turnovers are expected against VCU’s pressure. All the other stuff is discouraging.

I think NAIA ball is where the team might be able to compete.

Outshot 40-26 and VCU didn’t dominate on the boards. Though I didn’t see the turnovers in the box score, we must be pretty sloppy. You’d think w/ a team full of guards, we’d be better in this area.

8-20 from the line. Announcers mincing no words saying "that is terrible".
