The matchup is now cancelled. Not sure if they don’t have a replacement yet.

Every other FBS conference champ has a nice bowl match up. Same for the runner ups.

How do you have a team meeting to decide? Sounds like they didn’t want to play us...

They would’ve had 50-52 players but I would’ve have thought that they “could beat UAB with their walkons.”

Probably also just embarrassed. Those guys know they had no business being in a bowl. They didn't want to be the bowl team with the all time worst record, neither did TN. They and their fans want this season to be over. Stupid to ever accept the bid.

I'm still waiting on the explanation from UAB for this debacle.

Thank God this farce of a game ain't happening. The team deserved better than a 2-8 piece of crap opponent.

Well, we did something Auburn couldn’t do this year. We didn’t lose to South Carolina.

I hope the NCAA takes one look at that self imposed ban and laughs and ignores it. The best part is it wasn't even brought up until December. To me, you can't wait and see how the season plays out before deciding if you want to do this or not, and I hope the NCAA sees it the same way.(If it was a serious infraction occurring during the season, that is the only time this may be appropriate)

We are currently Eric Cartman during this football season. 5 cancelled games and CUSA has no respect for its conference champ. Been screwed over 1 too many times.

I’m fascinated how people just assume the conference screwed us over...the same way they were screwing us over to not find us opponents for our cancelled games (oh, turns out we were sometimes the team without enough players).

We’ve heard for weeks that UAB was pushing hard for a spot in the Bham Bowl (a bowl with no CUSA guarantee). To assume that we had no role in this fiasco is just looking through blinders

CUSA could’ve had our backs and replaced the ODU and Rice games on any of these dates:

Before we ever had covid problems of our own. Instead we were forced to scramble to find a 4th game, 2 times after Thanksgiving. Then they couldnt rip up obligational contracts to find a formidable opponent for its conference champ in bowl season

Call it a year and let these kids go home for Christmas.
