If we are talking about D2 moves to the Southland, I'm thinking outside the box a little, the obvious would be a couple of LSC schools, but I would be looking hard at 2 MIAA schools, notably, Northwest Missouri State and Pittsburgh St...

They both have excellent athletics, football is top notch, and a great fan base.

If either were to move up, I see no reason for either to settle for the Southland. They have better, closer options. With that said, they are not on anyone’s watch list.

RE: Southland backfills
The only MIAA school I see that could be viable for the Southland is Central Oklahoma, who seems content in Division II.

Central Missouri and Fort Hays State should be D-I material as well, but this part of the country seems to be hard soil for college programs not in the P5 or American. Even Missouri lags behind a lot of their SEC/Big 12 peers. I can't see those programs joining the Southland; they'd be a break glass in case of emergency for the Summit
