Then they need to open up the 450-500 bed hospital at the old CA building. The SCHD needs to spare us this “no bed” stuff and use all the resources available to them and let businesses stay open.

Do they have enough staff?

Need staff.

Are those beds acute care or ICU?

On the plus side, if this applies to the Liberty Bowl as well, we won't have to look at the orange fan base in our home stadium. Rumor is the LB is trying to get 3-7 UT to line up against WV.

Yep the fact that Tennessee is the epicenter of the rona plague in the U.S., and has the fastest growing infections, hospitalizations, and deaths, not withstanding. Why would anyone want to protect the dumbasses from themselves.

RE: No Fans At FedExForum
I definitely see the trouble in closing down businesses and restaurants, but when it comes to sports, I am perfectly fine taking off the winter from attending games if it means less positive cases and stress on hospitals. Especially since all of these games are on TV anyways! We are in the home stretch here (Dec.-July) with this virus and the vaccine will bring relief, if enough people man up and take it.

Then you hear the whole "well how come I can't go to a game and socially distance with my mask on, but its ok for me to run into Kroger and stand in line to pay for my groceries?" - 1. people need food 2. people don't need sports

Also, 2 wrongs don't make a right - just because you can't attend a game in person, but can go to target to Christmas shop, doesn't make it right. Be responsible and choose not do neither during this critical time.

Be kind and stick together (6 feet apart of course), these times aren't ideal for anyone involved and everyone has been sacrificing something this past year. Just a little further to go.

Unfortunately, the main cost of the FEF is the rent to the Grizzlies, which I bet they will not let us out of.

SCHD or maybe because of those who refuse to mask up. Who knows, maybe you're right...

Liberty Bowl officials hope to have 12-13,000 fans in attendance but Tigers can’t have 3....

LA County has the most cases but they also have 10 million people. Per capita its our state.

Shelby is doing marginally better than the rest of the state but our hospitals have to serve most of west Tennessee, northern Mississippi and eastern Arkansas. we just dont have the infrastructure or (more importantly) the staffing needed right now.

At least sports with fans. Its just ridiculous that we think this is even an option right now. Another 100k Americans will probably die in the next 30 days and we think its ok as a society to have 12k fans at the friggin liberty bowl to watch a 3-7 Tennessee team. Why should Memphis pay for the fun of those orange bastards. **** em.

98% survival rate and people want to close everything. The businesses being closed probably won’t have a 98% survival rate among them. Pete should stick to Griz stats.

WE. HAVE. LESS. THAN. 15. ICU. BEDS. LEFT. FOR. A. CITY. OF. 650. THOUSAND. PEOPLE.

It doesn't matter any more about dying because you have COVID. There is no place for you if you have a heart attack, or a stroke, or a car accident, or anything.

I have a friend who is a doctor in El Paso. They ran out of ICU beds about a month ago. His FB feed every day was about all the people who died bc they didn't have the space or staff to help them. Why should we have 13k ******* Tennessee fans get together when this is very soon happening to us.

Exactly. Doesn't matter whats wrong with them, more people are going to die if the ERs are swamped and people are spending 4 to 8 hours sitting in the ambulance before they are admitted to the ER.

They sent Chris Jarman from West Memphis to Batesville Arkansas by ambulance because West Memphis didn't have the resources and every single hospital in Memphis was on diversion. Batesville is 113 miles from the hospital in West Memphis, the Med is 9.4 miles. Where would you rather get sent if you are having a heart attack?
