Good.
It's for the best.

Just the continued Boise slide. The program is dipping hard, their coach is probably gone for Arizona.

Boise is stuck. He can't consistently win his conference, time to bail for a paycheck and Arizona has been good for that lately.
I'm not sure there is more than a handful of situations that will take your coach. I don't think Arizona or anywhere after Sumlin is coach will do it. I hope he remains at Navy he seems like such a good fit.

Thankfully Sonny Dykes already turned them down.

Niumat was the front runner at Arizona last time before various things went south. My thinking at the time was that he might want to follow Rich Rod as a culture rebuild - in addition to being back west, closer to family, in the LDS Belt.
He said he hasn't talked to Arizona this time, but I say that's what agents are for. Also said “I feel like I owe it to my family if people call; I listen to see what they have to offer." But he finished that quote saying "With that said, I'm still here after 23 years. It should tell you what I feel about the school.”
I like to think Chet has recently picked up a second phone with Ivin Jasper's number on speed dial, and if he gets an incoming call from Ken, he can dial Ivin before he's even done with any "I'm leaving" conversation.

Good to see SJSU win in the final game. Only one team had already prepared to play the other in NOV.

Amazing SJSU! Hadn't been to long ago that many SJSU supporters were ready to quit FB altogether. Great story - and weak MWC.

Wasn't the Mountain West trying to dump SJSU at one point because of their lack of competitiveness?

SJSU consolation price should be the Liberty Bowl

They were just riding the train. Originally promised to do a bunch of upgrades and changes, for quite a while nothing happened. Some significant changes seem to have started. They are updating their stadium, have a couple new facilities and have done a solid job in hiring coaches.
The current coach is who I think ends up at Arizona. He's young, worked there before durring a short period of success. Damn good recruiter from the area.
It's a good story but they have been building for three or four years.
More interesting to me is Boise with all its advantages continues to struggle just to compete for a spot in the top four of that conference every year. I have no idea why anyone looks at them as a viable candidate, especially considering their home hunting grounds are California and we are on the opposite end of the country.
Extra money, extra exposure, better support and still can't get it done. 2000-2010 appears to be their high water mark.

Boise opts out of a bowl, pretty sure there coach is gone and their program is crumbling. Hopefully this stops that nonsense of us taking on a problem child. Let's just go AFA/VCU and roll on.

I'm hearing Boise has serious financial issues and them not pursing AAC membership may be forcing their head coach to bolt now.
Not looking mighty nice at Boise land anymore.

No idea if true, but heard they wanted a p5 opponent or no play. Possibly even turned down chance to play some ranked teams.
Their opt out and USC sent things spinning for a bit apparently as people scrambled fo match up. Most bowls had assumed both would play in a bowl some where and made plans based on it.
