This is the deepest team that I can recall under TK. I like the look of Rollins, Acunzo, Shumate to go with the other known players.

RE: MBB @ Valpo Game Thread
While it wasn't a great offensive performance. especially their first half shooting, some keys to the Rockets victory included:

*16 Assists and only 4 Turnovers
*Outscoring Valpo by 12 pts at the foul line and 18 on 3 point shots.
*Holding Valpo to 4-20 (20%) from the 3-point line
*Despite playing a smaller lineup for the majority of the game, out rebounded Valpo 44-36 with the 3 guards (Littleson (8) Rollins (7) and Jackson (6) combining for 21.

Overall a solid performance over a Missouri Valley Conference Team. If we get a victory on Tuesday afternoon against struggling Northern Ill., we'll get to 7-3 overall and 2-0 in the MAC heading into the holiday break. I think that 11 day holiday break comes at a perfect time as it will give the Rockets an opportunity to rest over the Christmas holiday and then get back and have some "quality" practice time to work out some kinks before beginning an 18 game "MAC grinder" in early January.

RE: MBB @ Valpo Game Thread
If he can find a way to get more value out of Maranka and Komagum, it will be his best effort yet. Sooner or later that small team is going to run into a match-up they can't keep ahead of. Krikke almost kept Valpo in it on his own. M&K do give Toledo fouls. I think if he works Komagum on short catch and shoots instead of putting it on the floor and going to the basket, he can get some points and draw some fouls off big men.

Good analysis B-Jones... watched and agree. I hope we do play well against NIU.

Additional scoring out of Maranka and Acunzo would be a huge bonus to this team

Go Rockets!

RE: MBB @ Valpo Game Thread
A message has been sent to Maranka who will continue to ride the bench with Shumate getting more and more playing time along with Acunzo. Wish that Komagum would have gotten more playing time than he did. Talking about Maranka, can he still redshirt for the rest of the season ?

shumate is more productive than maranka right now. no one loses eligibility this year. no reason to rs anyone. but the point was to have this be a practice and learning year for maranka, so even if it's not a technical rs, don't expect the staff to put him on the floor under pressure a lot. acunzo is here to stay. a little undersized for his role this year, but his game will put him on the floor.
