I certainly don't have any hard feelings. Shropshire showed that anyone is replaceable. I'll just have to disagree with ya'll on "opting out" and look forward to seeing who we're gonna play. This is about as close to a FN Bubble Watch as we're probably gonna get right now. Sigh.

Not bashing smith at all by asking this question, but did he really have that great of a season or is his NFL stock based mostly off his athleticism, size, and measurables? It just seems like he didn’t have that huge of an impact this season. Not saying he’s garbage by any means, it just seems like we’ve had some defensive guys make bigger impacts than him the past few seasons.

You hit the nail on the head, Answer. He’s got all of that, but he hasn’t been able to close on the qb quite a few times against some pretty bad OLines.

He may go in the late rounds but he’s gonna need a strong SR bowl, pro day to earn a combine invite and then there to go earlier than day 3 of draft.

There’s a lot of guys sitting on practice squads just like him, at the moment.

He wasn’t catching as many Double teams like Marino or Rush was, either.

He’s a better prospect than Marino, however. No matter what angle you are looking at.

It’s a lot easier to look good as an edge rusher when the middle of the pocket is being collapsed in the QBs face. Last year he benefited from Marino eating double teams or collapsing the pocket giving the QBs no where to run to. This year we only got interior pass rush from blitzing safeties and linebackers. It’s the difference between a sack and the offensive line scheming to push you outside knowing they can just step up inside you.

If any of these guys got hurt in a meaningless bowl game fans wouldn't care one bit. Given how much players get screwed over they deserve some leeway to make decisions in their best interest. And I'm sure Clark is good with their decisions which is good enough for me.

Clark basically said he wasn’t good with Watkins decision.

Clark didn't basically say that. Stop it.

Quote:“I won’t mince words,” Clark said. “I was very disappointed that we couldn’t finish up with just a few weeks left."

He's classy about it but sends the message that he was unhappy with the decision. Not "mincing words" is the key phrase here. I totally agree with him. Finish what you start.

See the post after yours. That’s the exact article and quote I was referring to.
