But yes, ironically, a team that didn't start playing until October 24 is the first to clinch a playoff spot.

I don't know. If Florida beats Alabama, Ohio St might not make it with how ugly this looks.

You can't lose twice. That's what the committee said to the Big Ten champ ... TWICE. Plus Ohio State deserves to be in over the ACC loser, even if it's Notre Dame. They didn't lose. Think it's easy to go undefeated? Ask USC. Ask Marshall. If Notre Dame had to play at Clemson, they wouldn't have beaten them. If Trevor Lawrence played, Notre Dame wouldn't have beaten them. Or prove me wrong Notre Dame and then Clemson would be out.

Sermon breaks Eddie George's 25 year old Ohio State game rushing record.

It's a whole lot easier to go undefeated when playing only 6 games.

And after Sermon topped Eddie George's mark ... I take him out (if I'm the Ohio State coaching staff). Can you imagine if he had gotten hurt on the next carry? These coaches puzzle me at times.

Not to worry. Someone must have reminded Northwestern of the Big Ten rule that, whenever necessary, you gotta roll over for Ohio State in the second half.

I don’t see Texas A&M getting over the hump. So long as Oklahoma’s win is convincing, they should jump the Aggies. Blue blood P5 conference champion, their two losses were early in the season and by close margins, they get to avenge their road loss to the solid Cyclones...Sooners have a good opportunity to make the playoffs. Aggies only solid win is over the Gators...that win’s value may decrease later today.

1 loss vs 2 losses have been pivotal thru the years though.

Winning games against competent opponents will be more important. A&M should have been playing against Georgia this weekend. SEC administrators aren’t doing a good job adjusting to the COVID conditions.

The SEC will have played 70 out of 71 scheduled games. That's 98.6%. The FBS average is 87%

The SEC has done the best job of all the conferences in handling the virus.
Not really. Sun Belt and Big 12 did better.
Sun Belt was 39 of 41 (unfortunately one was ccg).
Big 12 was 44 of 46 and didn't even try to makeup the Texas-Kansas game this weekend.
SEC was only 65/70 coming in. They tried to makeup 4 of the 5 missed games (Ole Miss missed 2) but UGA-Vandy was missed again. So they could end up with the best % at 69/71, but took an extra weekend to do it.

The committee does weird things sometimes, but I would not predict that a 3-loss Iowa State team gets in over 1-loss Indiana. Florida is also going to have 3 losses unless the upset of the century happens tonight.

Ended up being the best noon game after all. If Purdy just hadn't been so impatient with 2 of those interceptions (one in the endzone on a first or second and goal and the other at the end near the 10 yard line, 3rd down from the 33).

Bounces went OU's way. ISU loses one of their best defenders to targeting 30 seconds in on one of those accidental targetings. ISU gets a tip down 17-7, bounces right into the defenders hands, but he can't hold on and it bounces right into the OU receiver's hands. OU goes on to score and go up 24-7. ISU missed a FG that bounces off the right upright.

ISU will fall to 12 Indiana slots in at 11. Oregon gets the 12th spot. I’m actually rooting for Tulsa at this point to see what becomes of CCU.

Yeah, this committee would put Ohio State in the playoff even if their record was 1-0.

The only question remaining (again, unless Florida pulls off the upset of the century) is whether the fourth spot goes to TAMU or to the Clemson-Notre Dame loser.

USC was unimpressive with their 5 wins.

I haven't seen much of Ohio St., but they have generally won by big scores against bad teams, unlike USC.

I haven't been impressed with what I have seen of Ohio St. I saw them get run over in the 2nd half vs. IU and I also saw most of this game.

Alabama, Clemson and Notre Dame seem to be the class of football this year. A&M isn't in that category. Neither is Florida regardless of the result tonight. Georgia today is. But its only the last 2-3 games that they had a decent QB. The team that lost to Alabama and Florida was not a top 10 caliber team.

ND Clemson definitely became must watch because Clemson has no backdoor at this point. Win or out. A&M ND 1-loss would be interesting. Will check back in 4 hours folks.
