RE: NIU lands Grad Transfer RB from WIU
After we played Utah, Hammock said he wanted a big bruising running back like Zach Moss. I was hoping Collins could be that kid, but is it me or is he not super duper physical?

Maybe this guy could be the guy. But also Hammock liked big swiss army knives while he was on the Ravens. Like Kyle Juszczyk and Patrick Ricard. This guy is significantly smaller than Ricard, but he's very similar to the pass catching Juszczyk.

Harbison kind of fit that role but wasn't a Spann/Stingley type. I can remember Stingley carrying people with him as he got a first down.

Moss was 5’9. I don’t know that he is a bruiser. I think hammock just wanted a go to back. A guy who did everything asked of him.

5'9 223. That's a lot of weight for a short frame. Bowling ball espe.

I loved Stingley. He was so good, and destroyed tacklers. That type of running back is hard to find.

He was hard to bring down. Always good for a couple of yards, and broke free a couple of times for some yardage.

I remember that game Spann had against Minnesota, 2009 I believe.

It was ESPN, MN. couldn't stop Spann and NIU won. MN recruited Kill shortly thereafter.

When we've won we have punched teams in the mouth. Nothing tricky, fancy ..run the ball, dominate and be ready to throw we then jam the box. kinda like Norte Dame's offense this year.

Shouldn’t be any surprise that some of that running success was tied to quality O-lines. That’s taken a slight dip as well.
