Anybody can make up a poll, but it would have to be one actually recognized by the NCAA, as pointed out above. The Colley Matrix is recognized, but personally I think it’s a bit much of a claim. Perfectly willing to admit I rolled eyes at UCF. But we won’t be #1 unless Alabama loses as well. They claimed the 1 spot last week.

Do it! You're team would be 12-0 for crying out loud. The committee keeps moving the goal posts on their invitational so challenge it. What do you have to lose?

Obviously, this is all contingent upon Coastal beating Liberty.

I'm asking because Coastal is already ranked #1 on the Krach Rating System, Bihl Rating System, and the Wobus Data Rankings. A possible win over #23 Liberty may keep them with a #1 rating in one of those.

UCF claimed a national title with their 13-0 season based on their #1 finish in the Colley Matrix Rating System, so I'm wondering if Coastal would do the same.

I believe UCF was 25-0 was it. A couple of NY6 wins?

If Coastal claimed a title Keith Gill would speak out against them. He'd try to feign conference modesty and actively stump against one of his members.

If you're going to claim a title you should put your money where your mouth is and pay national championship bonuses to coaches (which a lot of G5 coaching contracts do have believe it or not).
