I just saw an article but can't link. It said AD Leatch was working on it now and hoped to have it done soon. Are we ok with this. I hate to be a negatiger but I'm becoming disenchanted.

Really not going to do any better. He can get the players just have to hope he figures out college coaching.

One could recruit but not coach. The other could coach but hated to recruit. I think now we are back to the first.

Penny deserves a minimum 4 and I think 5 years unless he just completely poops the bed one season. We knew he was a first time head coach when we hired him. It should have been expected to take a couple of years for him to really get the college game figured out.

As long as top 20 classes are on deck and the stands are gull he will get 5 years.

I have no issue giving him another year or two, to get it figured out.

But, not a contract extension now.

It is a catch 22...

You can't lame duck your coach and expect him to be able to recruit.

Ya, that puts Penny in no mans land and makes recruiting impossibly tough. Pretty much all recruits want to know the coach they are committing to will be there to actually coach them for at least one season...

He has been in BB his entire life---what else does he need to learn ---like a commentator mentioned in one of our games this year " basketball isn't hard--not rocket science "---is there any coach that really knows more than another ? His entire life he has been taught and coached----again what else is there .

EVEN WE know when a TIMEOUT needs to be called--or when a player needs to be pulled----or HOW TO WORK THE REFS---GET A FRECKEN TECH sometimes . Just standing there with hands in pocket with a blank stare WONT cut it. We yell block out---we know fundamentals

Penny will get the players and he may change his philosophy like Cal did when he came up with the dribble drive once he got the personnel he needed.

I can see what he wants to do, the guys just aren't mentally tough enough.

AH crap I messed that up.. it was supposed to be 5 years 12.5

Current is 3 year 4.8mil
