Todd Dodge, one of the most hyped (now a fb coach), and the dozens of other Texas QBs from 1971 through 1997 didn't match their hype. We always had mediocre QBs. James Brown (just before Applewhite) did play in the CFL a while. He had a nice backfield at Texas. Ricky Williams and Priest Holmes, future NFL rushing leaders, were considered the #2 and #3 RBs behind Shon Mitchell (who later injured his knee and was never the same).
