I waited til the end of the first quarter and ended up buying the stream....yikes
Sean has some work to do. We are an offensively talented team (I think) but we are soft. Gotta be more physical on defense and rebounding or we are in for some losses this CAA season. Starting against Towson will be tough...

*sigh* I was pretty sure it would be a beatdown, but not this bad. Still it sounded like some bright performing from Steph. She's going to be a super asset.

Ouderkirk has been getting pretty solid minutes & showing up well on the court.

It was a humbling game. Can’t remember the women ever giving up a 100.

MD shot lights out after the 1st Qtr, and killed JMU on the boards. Hope this experience helps Coach O and staff get the women to refocus.

Read the post gsme article in the DNR - O’Regan was pissed haha as he should be. But he vowed changes are coming ...not sure what that means, I’m assuming rotation and playing minutes but he said there will be shakeups before the next game.

Unrelated - I really think Carodine has a lot of potential. She is so explosive to the rim, and has a quick first step. I’m hoping the changes include giving her more minutes bc I wanna see what she can do.

I think this game, and the WVU one, were meant to be learning games. Perhaps the ladies learned a little TOO much? I can imagine Coach being unhappy, but the team is young still and hopefully growing. I'd like to see Carodine playing more (agreeing here with dukes13) because it seems every time she comes in things happen. She reminds me of something Pat Summitt once said about Semeka Randall..."When she comes into a game, 10 things can happen. Nine of them are good." Jaylin is the same kind of player, very explosive and competitive to a fault. I've also been pleased with Eleanore's development this year--she seems a lot more confident and has a nice move to the basket. She should stop trying 3 pointers though.

Should we have lost to WVU and Maryland? - yes.

This is a young team and these games show them they have a long way to go.

That said, Sean's teams have not been mentally tough and confident in big games.

Down 35 against a non ranked WVU after 3 quarters. I was fine with that.

Follow it up with being out scored in the 2nd and 3rd quarters 57-22 versus UMD. That should not happen.

There is a mental issue with the Women's program right now. Hopefully they can break through it, but I keep waiting to see it.

Once again did not expect us to win the last two games. But I certainly did not expect us to look like a DII playing a D1.

Agree. Although I did believe the WVU game was one JMU could have won, and that the MD game would have been competitive as was the first Qtr.

Your comment this is a mental issue is spot on. As a young group of players this could go either way.

Yep. Sad (for the hoos) that the UVA win is so pedestrian now, but I appreciate that our bar is higher than being elated by a victory over a mediocre UVA.
