That was a dumb play. Should have been a QB run all the way. If he gets the first, the game is over. If he’s short, you take up a lot of clock.

Of course, it’s still possible for Georgia to score with 45-50 seconds left, but it’s a hell of a lot harder... bad play call!

Yeah, i don't get it either. Especially considering Fickell put way too much pressure on his D the entire 2nd half with the conservative play calling, then on the 3rd & 2 he attempts the offensive homerun that stops the clock. Crazy.....

That and poor clock management by Ridder.

I didn’t hate the call from the sideline, but the QB made the wrong read. He had #12 standing wide open two yards beyond the 1st down marker. Ridder could have also tucked it and ran. Georgia almost baited him with the deep ball knowing you have to give up something.

I didn't like the call personally. You have to play the odds and run the clock at that point in my opinion. I do see the open receiver but he had lots of traffic blocking his view. Him tucking to run would have been best even though there was no way he would have gotten the first down. At least the clock would have run.

He should have called a run play, not a RPO. I’d say Ridder was the best option to get the first down. Don’t take a chance at a dropped pass (or an interception, ask Pete Carroll). Terrible play call.

RE: Cincinnati
ANYTHING except what he did would have probably won the game for them.

- Tuck and run
- Pass to the open receiver at the first down line
- Make a good pass to the wide open receiver
- He didn't have eyes in the back of his head, but if he turns around and dodges the giant slow lineman, he probably could have run around for another 10 seconds and maybe made the first down

The receiver takes some of the blame for not coming back to the ball; he should have run into the defender on purpose. That not being pass interference was a miracle on its own. The ball was underthrown by a full 5 yards at least. IF it's underthrown by 1-4 yards, it's pass interference. The receiver had to stop and run too far back. Ultimately, it's the coach's fault and then the quarterback's.

Unbelievable.
