I had to Google What The Fruck is a UTPB...and I lived in Tejas for nearly 20 years.

I think that would be What the Frack is a UTPB...

West:
Dixie State (in process of upgrading their stadium)
New Mexico State
Sacramento State
Northern Arizona
Cal. Poly (football only)
West Texas A&M

East:
Tarleton State
Sam Houston State
SFAU
Lamar
Texas Southern
North Dakota State (football only)
South Dakota State (football only)

If the three schools in Big Sky refuses?

I will move Tarleton State to the west, and add UTPB with a 19,000 + seat stadium and leave the 12th spot open for Southern Utah when they can join FBS.
Northern Colorado, Colorado Mesa, Central Oklahoma and Fort Hays State could be the future.

UTPB plays in a HS stadium. Is that allowed in FBS?

Not that UTPB has any hope of going FBS, but I don't see why that would matter.-

Their student enrollment is climbing.
Second, the city owns the stadium that is being shared by the high schools, UTPB, soccor team and so forth. It is where the film Friday Night Lights were held. Ratliff Stadium can hold more than 19,000 fans. Permian Basin and Odessa are the hotbed for football players from high schools that can be useful for the WAC.

School District owns it.

Wow, their stadium was in a movie! That seals the deal. UTPB Falcons to the Big12. A movie was made about my high school, are we going to start playing college sports and move to FBS.

Not sure how familiar you are with the current state of Texas high school ball but West Texas isnt that talent rich. Dave Campbells Texas Football magazine has a breakdown that shows FBS recruits by region. All of the regions that make up what I would consider West Texas produced 14 recruits last year. Most of those probably went to Tech. Good luck with that hotbed.

Every star would have to align perfectly for that 2025 goal to happen. I don’t know that it’s realistic.

Because they don’t have other alternatives. The MWC said no and they don’t fit the WCC profile of Catholic schools. The Big West is basically California schools plus Hawaii and is the Big Sky any better than the WAC?

The WAC is fine for now and it gives NMSU an automatic ticket to the NCAA Tournament every year. A good rivalry with Grand Canyon is developing and it gives the Aggies exposure in Phoenix which has lots of NMSU alumni and fans.
