I'm sure this may be already posted elsewhere... haven't had time to go through threads lately... but MAN. It was a slam dunk hire to get Butch Jones, and now Major Applewhite as the OC? This is like a P5-level staff.

My point is StAte is putting together a quality staff with a lot of experience.

That may be a bit of a stretch, but Applewhite is fairly knowledgeable guy.

Its a slam dunk for 1 year, maybe 2. This has potential to be disastrous in the long run. Butch will want to win fast, so your roster could be nuked into oblivion in the coming seasons. Just be $0.02.

Yep, we messed up in hiring good coaches because it could be potentially disastrous. We should have hired somebody that nobody will ever want. Uh......we've done that before.

LOL. Doberman ain't wrong on this one. That was Anderson's job. He didn't do it. He kept the JUCO/transfer train rolling trying to win himself into a P5 job.

If he wins big, that's not disastrous. That's fantastic.

Besides, all of our coaches that are actually worth a crap are only at our schools for 1 to 4 years max. So what does it matter?

I have no idea what some of these guys are talking about. Maybe they're giving you a hard time, idk. Most of our fanbase is very exicted about Butch Jones, Major Applewhite, and the possibility of stealing one of Alabama's coaches for our DC. I also agree with you on great coaches staying. Until the Sunbelt can afford to pay coaches more than 2 million a year, our coaches will get poached for more money. I'd rather our coach get poached than one that stays around for 10 years and is mediocre.

Turns out this report was wrong. Looks like he’ll be the OC at South AL.

That's good for USA. Defensive minded HC with a former HC/OC as OC.

Pretty solid. This is a big step up from Campbell / Jones.
