RE: North Face turns back on
Nylon is more than just "energy intensive." It's actually made from petroleum.
Nylon itself is not a hydrocarbon, but it's made from a chemical combination with a hydrocarbon. One of the two chemical compounds used to make it is Hexamethylenediamine, which is a hydrocarbon that is synthesized from petroleum.

RE: North Face turns back on
So, does this mean North Face will immediately cease using any electricity from petroleum? Will they cease using any products produced from petroleum, including ANY plastics in their machinery, packaging, or products? Will all plastics be removed from their buildings? What about the employees, will they be allowed to drive those evil gasoline powered cars? But wait, even if all the employees drive Teslas, they still use petroleum products for their cars? I guess the employees will need to walk.
That's okay, North Face has always been overpriced trendy garbage anyway that I won't ever wear so no skin off my back.
