Possibly another with a .500 if Troy wins next week against ULM

And I’ll be hoping for it. If the AAC weren’t to get the Access Bowl this year than I definitely hope it’s the winner of the Belch. Great league this year and getting better and better.

To be fair it's a weird year with some conferences only playing conference slates it's hard to compare schools. I wonder if the argument of schedule matters goes into the final rankings talk. With the Sun Belt champ being 13-0 and a potential Big Ten champ missing its key rivalry game. Ohio State would only have 2 victories over teams with a winning record. While everyone knows Ohio State is a better team than any Sun Belt team I don't understand why the CFP doesn't through a G5 a bone and place a G5 in the playoffs.

If you're going to pretend that the system works than this season would be a easy way to place a G5 in to the playoffs with Ohio State will play 3 ranked teams but one which is Penn State which now has a losing season. Basically strength of schedule argument to keep the Big Ten and pac 12 out of the playoffs. I honestly don't know if the Big 12 has anyone in the top 25. Could any of the G5 seek to question the legitimacy of the rankings on why Ohio State is so highly ranked?

The Sun Belt IMO has been trending towards being the 7th best overall football conference for a long time. Who would have thought by losing WKU, MTSU, FIU, and FAU that they were actually going to get better?

Goes to show why the P5 conferences need the OOC cupcake schedules to get to .500 (6&6) in normal years to become bowl eligible. If the conferences had to depend on conference records to become bowl eligible without OOC cupcake schedules you could eliminate 80% of the bowls at the end of the season. Outside of a few schools like Alabama, Clemson, and Ohio State most of the schools in conferences would be eliminated from post season play by beating each other up in conference only play without their annual cupcake feast. 04-jawdrop 02-13-banana 02-13-banana 03-lmfao 03-lmfao 03-nutkick COGS COGS 04-cheers

As a Midwesterner, the B10 had been extremely top heavy for years. The back half of the conference had been able to look better over the years by padding some FCS/MAC school wins to start the season.

This is what your break away conference would like like should a lot of you get your way— a lot of schools with .500 records or lower.

Since the start of the CFP, here is the BIG record vs other P5 conferences. We can go back further too, if you'd like?
ACC- 23-15
Big 12- 11-10
PAC- 20-20
SEC- 10-16
Notre Dame- 4-5
Bowl games- 30-27

Yes, this has been a jacked up year for the BIG conference and many others. The BIG dropped the ball on this season and it's been a dumpster fire!
As you can see, the teams of this conference have been competitive through the years with only losing records, as a conference, against the SEC and Notre Dame.

Not sure what the point of this stat is?

If a conference plays no OOC games, it's overall record must be .500. And how that .500 is distributed doesn't really matter in terms of telling us how good the teams are.
