RE: Bowl Selections
Several things brought up in this thread.

Tech is 5-4. They did not play the entire month of November. They got skulldrug by TCU last Saturday and lost their quarterback to a gruesome leg injury. So, both GS and Tech will be without their QB.

Found out last night the MAC is not part of our bowl scenario this year. Most had the Cajuns headed to Montgomery to play either Buffalo or Ball State. Not happening.

There is a POSSIBILITY but not likely that one of our teams could be sent to a bowl game other than the contracted bowls. The Commissioner acknowledged the possibility and our AD confirmed it. Not expected to happen, but could.

ESPN wants the SBC champ and CUSA champ to play each other. Therefore I think the SBC champ goes to the Cure bowl to play Marshall (provided the Herd wins.) However, don't expect a rematch between Louisiana and UAB. That's where the "other" bowl game could come into play.

For now at least the CUSA winner gets the Cure and the runnerup gets the Camellia.

As of right now, all five SBC bowl slots are against CUSA teams. How sweet would that be if......

RE: Bowl Selections
Cincinnati wins and they are in NY6. They can win by 40 or 1. If the chips fall right they may sneak into the top 4. Big If but very possible. Coastal wins they could find themselves in a NY6 game as well.

Does ESPN have the Cure bowl this year? They didn't last year.

Because their fanbase always thinks they should win their conference and they find a way to choke in the regular season or CCG.

That would be a really good matchup, Marshall’s great defense against CCU creative offense.

Our defense actually played very well against Rice. Seven of their points were a pick-six. And all but three were due to Wells’ interceptions. So I hope this is the matchup. Plus, the B’ham bowl is on NYD.

CCU really makes it a guessing game on what they will do next, once they get your players guessing you are in real trouble.

I hope we get the opportunity to see how we stack up. We have to get by UAB first.

Bottom line the bowl matchups are pretty “meh” and I’m not knocking my conference mates but CUSA vs SBC for the most part is not exciting except for the teams involved. CCU is getting the biggest Screw job in recent CFB history especially if they beat UL in the championship game.

I think whoever wins the CCG will take the cake for biggest screw job in recent CFB history.

What about undefeated UCF?

They can at least claim a National Championship.

But that team that beat Auburn was playoff worthy.

Wake is pushing for the ability to play two bowl games. If it is allowed App is playing in one early enough that they possibly could fill in some of the NYE and NYD bowls

That UCF team beat an Auburn team that was decimated with injuries after playing Georgia twice and Alabama. That Auburn team was heading for playoff till those injuries and a loss got them out of the playoffs. They had no interest in settling for a game vs UCF. People forget how banged up Auburn was in that bowl game.

Auburn should have set out the SEC CCG so they could get into the CFP. 03-nutkick

This is why Ohio St shouldn’t be in the CFP against teams that have played 5 more games then they have.

I've been asking that question for a while now. We shall see. I would think that winners of the early bowl games could be available because some may not be getting the full 15 days of extra practice
