Missing SPOOK MURPHY

I'm guessing Spook was 11 coaches back. This is the last TEN coaches.

I stand corrected--the thread title does say 10---but why for heaven sake----you gotta list them all don't you--otherwise whats the point

13th before Williamson and Pancoast

Yeah-that's the ticket---everybody gets a trophy. The EXCUSE-IFACATION I mean WUSS-IFACTION of AMERICA. I hear employees all across the fruited plain---telling employers they need a pass for unsatisfactory results.

Why? Why, you ask? Because he has been doing the same thing on the last 10 BASKETBALL coaches, so he thought he ought to do the same for football. If he had been doing the same thing for the last 15 coaches for basketball, then he probably would have done the same for football, and Spook would have been included. Context. You gotta be aware of the context.

It should not be considered 40 years of futility. Nobody should include Tommy West's tenure as futility. He may have had an OVERALL losing record, but he was the start of winning again, and RC just held onto him 1 year too many. He started taking that post-bypass medication and stopped being so gung-ho. But he was responsible for multiple bowls/multiple winning seasons for his first 6 or 7 years.

If what you said really is a reflection of your standards for performance then please tell me where you work so that I can start recruiting your best employees away from you. That kind of macho, crack-the-whip, kick-‘em-in-the-ass stuff might sound great on talk radio or with your drinking buddies, but try holding real people to a such an absolute standard and you’ll personally become a very good example of “unsatisfactory results”.

Any employee - including a head coach - has to be evaluated for their progress over time and in comparison to realistic expectations given the circumstances that exist. A “no tolerance for failures” philosophy means no tolerance for development and growth.

Tommy was a fun coach before and after the bypass. What did Tommy in was his hard head, and R 'o C cokecola's doodoo brain. Football fans were so frustrated by the long drought they though a NO Bowl victory was suddenly our birthright and turn on Tommy as so as R 'o C gave them the excuse to stop going to games. (He said he fired Finch because of attendance, and a certain ilk of fans used that to get Tommy fired)

As I stated in another thread. Sadly, West is the ONLY Tigers coach to win 2 bowl games. Hard to believe our last bowl win was BYU.

However, I do feel good about FAU.

Tommy did his best to turn chicken sh*t into chicken salad with a low budget and not a lot of administrative support. He gave fans the first taste of winning in a very long time and more importantly, when he was let go he pointed the finger at the right direction to bring light of the situation. It was a wake up call for the program.

And where are all these employees who thing they should get a pass for unsatisfactory work? Where on the “fruited plains” have you been to witness such folks. Please expound.
