Just responding with my 4 if they add 4 as article suggest. Think 12 is the perfect number for a conference. Sorry Memphis.
Yes 12 is right unless adds from P12. That said I would have preferred Memphis over Houston, hut UH got the call because of TV Market.
The perfect scenario would be if Louisville, Pitt, USF, and Memphis joined.
East: Cincinnati, WVU, Pitt, Louisville
South: Memphis, UCF, USF, Houston
Central: Baylor, TCU, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State
West: BYU, Kansas, K-State, Iowa State
That would be an incredible conference, geography works, rivalry games back, basketball, it would have everything.
Why would Pitt and Louisville leave the ACC? They wouldn’t… be realistic..
Because this thread would die now that were in a P5 conference without the crystal meth ideas coming out.
They would if the ACC fell apart. Maybe the Big Ten grabs some combination of UNC, UVA, and Georgia Tech. Or the SEC just says screw it and invites Clemson and Florida State.

G5 may have some movement but who cares.
It always seems to come about every 10 years. I won’t put any stock in any of the leftover G5’s getting their golden ticket until we are a year or two into the 2030s.
I agree 10 years is many years.

If there's one positive from all of this, it's almost impossible to see how these guys could possibly execute a P5 split from the NCAA. It's more likely you see the SEC split from the rest of the country at this point lol.

Yeah, the Playoff expansion situation alone proves these guys have no idea how to coordinate a damn thing.

We saw that even last year with the disorganization establishing COVID protocols/whether teams will play at all. There have been guys posting on the CR board for over a decade about some master plan to what is essentially a D League made of the top 24-30 brands. These guys can’t agree on anything. The expansionistas are talking out of their arse.

RE: All Things Realignment 2.0
Has anyone heard anything on B12 in 2023 & 2024?
Unless good sense prevails 2023 & 2024 the B12 will have 14 teams.
Any rumors on Divisions?
East: UC, WVU, UCF, ISU, KSU, KS, (OK)
West: BYU, TCU, TT, OSU, BU, UH, (TX)
To encourage OK & TX to depart do not schedule OK v TX in FB or OK v OSU in FB or TX v TT in FB.
In the future will OK play OSU on OOC schedule? Will TX schedule TT, BU?

Everyone seems to think 2023 is the year. But here we are in 2022 with no announcements of exit fees or anything. Odd.

My guess is that stuff gets ironed out this summer and announced at the start of the coming athletic year.

RE: All Things Realignment 2.0
I came across this viewership data for this season and was taken aback by a few things. First, obviously this has to be the best numbers in UC history. Second, I know most of us pined to be in the ACC, but hardly anyone is watching half of that conference (obviously Clemson draws big ratings). Third, the BXII does a lot better on average than I thought. Kansas was the least viewed program but that is comparable to middle of the road in the AAC.

How would this data look if you rearranged teams into the new Big12 and new SEC?

The 466 means 466 millions total viewers for the SEC. The 110 means the number of games that were televised over the air.
How this figure out on the new BXII and SEC is yet to be determined. On one hand, a UC v any BXII should garner more viewers than a UC v random AAC team. OTOH, the legacy BXII teams might see a hit in their total viewers because they will not have Texas and/or Oklahoma on the schedule anymore.

I saw that. It'll be fun to be in the conference with Texas and OU for potentially two years. Can you imagine one of those two rolling into Nippert? Just hope Texas doesn't hurt our Strength of Schedule.

I prefer OK to come in. Their fans were gracious. I suspect TX fans would be asses.

RE: All Things Realignment 2.0
Here's a scenario.
Let's say the ACC decides to expand this year... And they send an invitation to UC in an attempt to divert us from the BIG XII and come join them instead. As noted previously on this board, it's a better geographic fit and our natural rivals would be waiting for us.
Knowing what we know about the states of each league, would you accept the ACC and turn down the BIG XII?
