Yuri & Kochera Had their scoring moments and never stopped hustling....nor did the team.

I'm thankful we reached 40 points.

Not much to watch.

...after all, that’s the only number that really matters now.

Time to rest up then get ready for a crazy CAA schedule.

The afterglow from the GW game is starting to fade off.

We have a lot of growth needed by this young team. We play better when either Luke or Scott bring the ball up from backcourt as Yuri does not have the maturity yet set the correct pace. The announcer yesterday said it well "he has great speed but as not yet learned when to shift gears" which will come with maturity.

This team needs to gain some confidence but sadly our next 6 CAA games are against Hofstra-away, then Delaware - home and finally Drexel away. Think we are lucky to be 2-4 after those games.

I'm not sure we will be favored in any of our remaining games. We have zero chemistry right now and unlike every year for the last 15 or 20 years we have no player that we can really count on when we need a basket. I hope we find the chemistry and get players used to playing at this level with high hopes for the next season, hopefully with fans.

I think I'd let Yuri ball handle. No time like the present to learn how to pace the team in live game situations. He seems mature and confident enough that some bad outings wouldn't shake him but that would be the only thing giving me hesitation.

We should be favored against Charleston, at least. They (also) stink this year and they have never won in the 'Burg. Got to keep that streak going.

I guess the optimistic side of things is that the entire league appears to be down this season. Hofstra is clearly the favorite and likely far better than anyone else initially. Still, I am not sure that they are as good as the team that won back in March. Northeastern, Charleston and Delaware all seem to be significantly weaker than they were last season. The Tribe probably has the furthest to go to contend this season. Hopefully, the games can get played, the team can stay healthy, and show gradual improvement over the next 2 months.

Delaware and Hofstra were set up to be the clear favorites. Then, Delaware lost much of their good players to transfers and Hofstra became a more significant favorite.

I am curious as to how teams do with the back to back games vs the same team. Seems like you might see more 2-0 sweeps. Also, will things get more heated in the 2nd game of a back to back?

Nah...they thought they were the Lakers after pummeling us and slacked off a week.

Side note: Northwestern just beat its second ranked team in a row. Audige stats dont blow your mind, but he's starting as a soph for what will be a top 25 team Monday. Hard to believe we had him at all and in this transfer-age, he'd likely have been picked off the following year by "Fill-in-blank P5 team"

Good for Chase. Of note, Eva likes every tweet that mentions Chase's success.

Happy for Audige but still feel he handled his exit poorly when he posted his freshmen highlights during the season in February.

In defense of Audige, not so sure he was going anywhere until Coach Shaver was fired. Judging by twitter likes, it looks like Coach Shaver is still a big supporter of Audige, which I'm not so sure is the case with other players who may or may not have stayed based on what rumors we choose to believe.
Although, I'm likely just reading too much into the twitter activity of someone who is not particularly active on social media anyways. LOL. Would love for someone more in the know to confirm/deny...

It is common knowledge within the MBB program that Audige parents wanted him to transfer. His exit was totally unrelated to Shaver being fired nor was Shaver firing tied to Audige leaving.

They felt he would not get enough exposure to have a shot at the NBA, if he stayed at W&M. They, obviously, did not foresee the 3 to 7 scouts per game that Nate drew regularly during his Senior season. That alone, combined with his expected production as a Sophomore, could have put him on the radar of a lot of scouts.

We still need to be continuously aiming for his level recruits, (next year's class seems very solid) even if there is a chance some will transfer. We should not settle for less.

Hindsight is 2020 as they say. One more year @ W&M would have raised his stock with the attention he would have garnered from scouts watching Nate and higher expected productivity by Chase.

Personally, I'm just looking forward to 2020 being in the rear view mirror and truly hindsight... Rimshot

Need to get this Kaplan renovation underway, as you cannot underestimate its impact in helping Dane hook this recent grab of recruits.

Amen! The positive impact of the renovation cannot be underestimated, either for Men & Women's Basketball, or for the College in increased visibility and financial support. This is not the time to be either timid or myopic!

FOR THE BOLD!!
