RE: New Smoke going up
This should be QB Jase Bauer, who was just named the Iowa Class 4A Player of the Year.

Amazing that a player of the year didn't get bigger offers. I'm not complaining though.

Does anyone know how the levels go in Iowa? Is 4A a big school or a small school? What is a 4A school in Iowa comparable to in Michigan?

RE: New Smoke going up
Iowa has six divisions (8-man, A, 1A, 2A, 3A and 4A) of which 4A is the largest. Ankeny is a suburb of Des Moines and Ankeny High School has an enrollment of more than 1,900. There are currently two high schools in town with plans for a third. If I had to make a comparison I would say very similar to a Grand Rapids suburban school, such as Rockford.

The Iowa high school recruiting analysts are saying CMU got a steal. Jase did have a PWO offer from Iowa and UNI, SIU and SDSU are all excellent FCS programs.

I would say his mechanics need a little refinement, but his speed, strength and athleticism are top notch. Also, Bauer's attitude and leadership qualities are off the charts. IMHO, he's a great QB prospect who's going to excel under coach Mac and Charlie Frye.

RE: New Smoke going up
I like this QB prospect, he has wheels and seems to see the field from a running aspect. I'm a little concerned about his arm but I think there's a future for him at CMU.

If he can do the quarterbacky things like be able to read a defense and know when to throw it away he should be a good one. His speed alone will force the opposing defense to be honest in their coverage.

Does anyone know if he camped anywhere and if there's any info from his visits?
I'm still thinking Frye found a gem.

Fire Up.
